why "DARK"???!!!

I m just wondering,maybe somebody will explain me in anyway,why the word "DARK",that was invented in 97 by Para Sense to identify their own music style,and,actually,which came out between us as a joke-kind of a group of friends,stoned bla bla bla,lets give the name for our style,tri ta ta-and Alex and me were in our past times the fans of Punk and Dark Metal,so hehehe,bla bla bla,lets call it punk trance,no,heavydark,no...DARK trance!O,yeah,OK,cool,lets call it like this!!!Hurraa!DARK!DARK!
But it was a kind of joke for one particular time when PS used to make really DARK stuff.
After that,as a desease,this word spreaded all around the Globe.Generally I have to be satisfited,seeing this,but I am not -for one reason.
If at the beginning it was a kind of local-group-of-friends joke,now it became a kind of
a Movement.Dark Music.Dark stuff.Dark labels.
What,it is a kind of Demoniac story?Or somekind of "Crypttales"sect?I mean,in the idea,parties have to give positive emmotions,regenerate the karma,whatever,have nice ideas,names ( nick names)
Look,what is going on-"dark music,"hi to all dark people","dark after party(!)",dark psy,dark nebula,winter demon,smiling ripper.
Alllooooo!Why like this?
What I am talking about is nothing with the music ( and,actually,more of this type of music,which for unknown reason people call DARK is not really -it ispsychedelic,experimental,minimal,night,I donno.
I cant say,that I like the name FULL ON as well,but this term is kinda OK,describes by itself the situation on the dancefloor when this music is playing even if u donno what is all this trance about .
But DARK...What-no light on the party place?Or more people are dark skin....Or the Darkness and Dark side with dj Darth Vader ?
I m really sorry I didnt patent this name in my time,so I could prohibit it now,but ...
It was fckn 97,now is 2005,maybe the uprising geniouses from DARK scene will create better,modern and more positive name for what they are doing?

Well first of all although u may have the first copyright on "Dark" trance  but i do think that like all music styles this one emplays emotions, and i think even if u have not back than decied to call it that way the name would come up by itself... though i'm not an expert in dark trance,but i can asume that this name comes probably out of formulas for creating this music like samples from horror movies , spooky samples and such...so i guess it's pretty obvious

I don't think that YOU created the word 'Dark' alone, but anyway I won't discuss it. Maybe it's true but surely many people described dark music as well as you at that thime.
However, I agree with you thinking that the term dark creates some vibe in a party that for me is not directly related to what a trance party should be: light, hope, share, good, happyness, emotion or respect are words not many associated to the term 'Dark'.
I must also add that if people enjoy this style let them listen to what they like, so there is no problem about it... |

You didn't invent dark trance. Or perhaps the word, (I still doubt it) but the music existed before. |

i m kind of divided here.. dont see nothing wrong with the word dark ( although is a kind negative word, but mainly whats in front of u is what u want to be, so i dont see negative) e.g. check dark soho sentense..
But the fact is exactly that... why dark lables?? dark partys??? whats that?? seems really negative like a heavy metal concert..
its about the negativism inside the people.
I think that 50% of the people that were here
when it was called TRANCE music they are not here anymore. and the people that is coming, new comers, new artist , new lables ( dont want to ofend anyone) just seems more intreasted in keep this new vibe going and completely forget whats this all about.. forget the money, cause you'r karma will take you off anytime if u know what i meen.. i meen if this is all about buisness ( the dark stuff) so i think this ppl is making their own holes..
anyway, trance is good vibes! Help the others to feel good, with music and with vibes and with smile and with LOVE.

And the word "dark" isn't negative, in fact I prefer darkness to light - the dark is comforting and soft while the light is harsh and burning.

Hehehe, this so funny man...
Imagine how many ppl around the world, had the same conversations, the same thinking and the same reactions according to some phenomenos, for example,
sound, feelings, emotions, etc... 
Maybe parasence where creating great 'dark' music, and BIG respect to both of them, but for sure they were not the inventors of it neither is u...
The word existed from long long before and for sure more ppl that u think even way back from the time that YOU got stone and figure out a name, were mamling jumbing about stories and conversations while being stone 
Anyways, Trance is not about laughing and smiling and be happy all the time...
In more general way of thinking, music as a general thought, is about feelings and emotions...
And a persons mind is not operating according to some pre-invented theories and already established patteerns..
If an artist is producing something that comes out and ppl describe it as something spooky, evil and dark this has nothing to do with parasence or dark nebula, or xenomorph or anybody else that thinks they invented dark music...
Dark music was always there, it will always exists and is part of our life...
You cant be happy without the sadness, u can smile with out the frown, u can cry with out the smile... and the story goes on...
There is not day if there was no night...
So, every artist is creating what he/she desires...
I like the dark/night time, so my tracks sound more like nightish stuff.. Will not fit to play them in a nice beach bar, with some nice girls drinking pina colada!!
Further more, I would like to add that like trance, is house music, and tehcno and drum and bass, and electro and IDM, and Hardcore, and Ambinet,,,, all these have their sub genres and the subgenres have their subgenres and the story goes and goes...
So stop jufging what ever u listen and u might not like it or u might not like the name of it, just leave it behind and move to something new or stay with the ones u liked

U Right .. it comes at this time with parasense and kindzadza style And Then the word "DarkFullon" get in to with PsychoticMicro , Zik & Others . i dont think we should call it "Dark" or "Nigh" or What ever , Names has no matter And Meaning . For me The music is Talk .. !

My opinion for that "Dark Trance" is that is not really dark..Because isn't morning is supposed to be dark??For me dark is something deep (that "Dark" trance is not deep but noisy) like the deep abyss where the fish have their own lights to live!For me dark trance are Juno Reactor,The Delta,Spirallianz,Four Carry Nuts,Holeg Spies,Deviant Species,Dark Soho (their old stuff)...So dark trance for me is cinematic industrial gothic trance.And I thing that matches enough with our age..A dark age!As for the supposed to be dark trance only Xenomorph is dark artist and In R Voice!I think that if you put some atmospheres and make not so noisy music you will create dark trance...And the most importand is that "dark artists" have to increase their production quality!I listened the new Acidance compilation Subculture and I that things started to getting better in that style!Cheers!

well Dj X.P. you wasnt the first one to invent this word DARK. i bet if it wouldnt be Parasense and other people around someone else would call it that way some time later.
its the way the people tend to identify with. as you said for example Dark Side (star wars stuff) -- i know a lot of people that are identifying themselvs with so called "Dark side of the force" ...its way they fell or it reflects the current state of their existence.
and DARK doesnt mean necesarly 'negative' or similar. its just in the way or the angle you look on that. but thats just my 'vision' of things... it differs from person to person. ;]

this is also was and still a music with dakness atmosphere and sound !!,
in most of the cases.
but know things changed and the darkness scene goes and grow with many more style'S u can call it full on or whatever but this darkness u got inside the most psychedelic visual that u can get.
also dark progg artist's sun control.senseint and more that kicking asses with this style in parties at night time.
its all about the inside of the body night or morning or whatever this is psytrance scene with many kinds of style's so u have to be with mind open for anotehr and new things.
Like ppl sayed here:
After the dark come the light.
"light without darkness isn't light".
