this is a dum question i know, but i dont personally know anyone who likes trance except for me. its not big around my area i guess. anyway, whats the difference between psychadelic trance and, well, other trance. what i mean is like how does it differ between a tiesto track or something like that? -josh

My opinionated answer..this will probably be found as untrue to many other people so don't take my word for it..
Psytrance, other than having what can only be described as "different" sounds..tends to have the specific contrasting motif of trance that leads, rhythms, and how samples/vocals are used are more intricate and detailed, and even moreso that they tend to not repeat, as trance riffs usually do.
You usually won't find "singing" in psytrance. The music speaks for itself. The other difference is that trance is closer to the rave culture, while psytrance is followed by some of the rave culture and even more of the "neo-hippie" culture.
Nonetheless, the best way to discern the difference between psytrance and "regular" trance is to listen to both styles, or to simply use the search.

of course, there also differencies in case of structure. our daily trance sounds to me like built around the main melody only, if you would take the melody away you would erase the soul of the tune. this is different in psytrance imo, not every part in a tune is made as an appetizer for the main melody, but as a stand-alone ingredient itself.

that is excactly correct!

also, if you know how compression sounds then you should be able to hear a difference between the master compression used in "normal" trance and in Psychedelic trance (99% of the time anyway).           www.iono-music.com
