it's definitely no fun hearing morning sounds at night....where's the anticipation? the waiting for the morning and the first few lighter sounds that come with first light that open your mind after the darker heavier sounds of the night?....it's definitley more interesting to have these sounds as part of a dj set.....it's just more complex music....the darker the sounds the more empowering the music .....because thru all those so called evil sounds the killer base lines pump your veins with exploding energy......for me it is generally a pleasureable experience! boom |

dark psychedelic is starting to get stronger especially now that israeli formulaic full on has created an emptiness of emotion in psychedelic trance. full on had a moment where it was creative and constantly innovating, but it reached a climax and then just stayed there, full on lost its impulse and stayed in a static state and now you have 25 bands doing the same music and that kind of music makes nothing at all to me.
dark psychedelic is the only music which now in the dancefloor is sending shivers down through my spine and making me tremble with excitement and adrenaline, its the only psytrance style which is really trying to explore new things and does not stay at any static point at all, it is in constant movement and changes. the dark aspect of life can be as beautifull as the bright one, just see a a H.R giger painting and you will understand what i mean
psychedelic was always about going deeper and farther, dark psychedelic is doing just that  . explore, go crazy, scream, take the next step
i agree completely with the idea of having all kind of musics in a party (what sense would be listening to parasense at sunrise?) but at night let the demons come out

good discussion, good points! Just remembering my favortie dark sounds set......Talamasca live at Rainbow Serpent '03. sharp-toothed and delightfully frightful.
Dark lovers would love it on the west coast of the USA. San Fransisco has lots of dark artists, Goa Gil parties, Portland and Seattle have many fans of the genre.
