Please write down what are your collaborations to make our psyscene a better place.

Examples range from writting your honest opinion on this forum, collecting trash on the ground at parties and buying original CDs to organizing parties with responsability.
Thank you.

I would not advise people to write their honest opinion in this forum if they cant take the heat and the flaming that come along with having an opinion here.

I always make sure i dont leave any trash behind. And I have at occasions helped a lost person on too much drugs back to reality.. Does that count?

This could be a good topic.

I will now try to make myself look like a regular Robin Hood of PsyForest now :-P

1.:
I try to share my experiences during the last 10+ years of enjoying psy and electronic music with others. Among other things, I try to put things in perspective, so that people do not keep chasing their own tails.

2.:
I use my analytical skills to try and figure out how the scene works, and what can influense it in a positive manner.

3.:
Ive helped a few people out of their drug abuse, by telling them what I think about them and their habbits. First telling them where they are headed, and once they see that I know what Im talking about, I try to give them an idea of how to either stay clear of trouble or quit drugs all together.
Actually, Ive told some of those people they shouldnt be in the electronic music scene because they are just there for the drugs - Which did work in at least 1 case.

4.:
I keep listening to music, and try to look past names, ideas and images and put my focus on how the music sounds + works more than anything else. This is a development within myself that I undertake all the time, and I try to put others on the same path. Perhaps its a matter of opening your mind to music, and closing it to marketing hype.

5.:
I try to be a constructive part in maintaining a better electronic music online community (www.electrobeat.dk). Basicly by increasing quality over what already existed. This takes up a lot of my time.

6.:
I try to raise peoples knowledge about trance music and culture - As well as making them more critical and demanding when it comes to especially the events that represent the culture (parties).

7.:
I try to give as much feedback as I can to artists creating the music or other artwork, honest and constructive feedback.

8.:
For everyone who wants to be a better DJ - I try to share the core of my own experiences with them, but I still encourage them to find their own solutions to DJing. (to avoid everyone doing it the same way).

9.:
Within the electronic music scene I try to be an open person, more here than anywhere else... I try to look past personalities I might not really be compatible with in order to either learn from them, or get them to learn from me... Basicly, thats a 2 way thing.

10.:
I try to make people mature and get a different perspective on the scene other than "go do drugs, and dance like hell".

10½ - I try to be honest with myself, about what I can do and why I do it. Doing things for the wrong reason, might pervert ones actions in the future.

That was 10 and a half things... I bet I do more, but those where the first 10 that sprung into my mind.

Kind Regards

It's safe to express your opinion here, as long as you don't trespass the guidlines. People may disagree with you and you can disagree with them, that's why this place exists: for us to see different points of view. No one is forced to agree with anything (except the guidelines, that exists only to make conversations more educated).

And yes, helping people who took too much counts...

very very sorry

So next time i get insulting hate mail from various flamers here for expressing my opinion you will actually do something about it if i report it to you? I like to see that done

Or when a post of mine is deleted because a moderator dont agree with my opinion even though i did not insult anyone or even break any rule then you will correct that "mistake" and put the post back again and tell that moderator to stop his personal hunt against me? I also like to see that happen

Will this post be deleted too?

i don't feel like doing anything for improving the psy scene. i just buy original-only cd's but that's just for my egoistic pleasure of hearing top-quality trance tunes!

Trying not to disturb other people around me, i always have fun at parties for myself and that's it.

Ask not what the psyscene can do for you but what you can do for your psyscene?

Good thread!

P.S. I don't think anything I do makes the psy scene better. I'm not really part of it, except that I love some of the associated music and I enjoy reading about it on the forums.

But I do hope to one day being able to contribute something of my own. I don't know how I'm going to do that but I feel I have something to give. Many things about psy scene fascinate and inspire me - first and foremost the sonic tickling is right up my present alley, but also it seems to encompass other things that naturally appeal to me, from the art to the ethos to the various links with spirituality/healing...personally I have been a nicer, happier person since releasing my inner psy

So yeah, it would be nice to give something back, even if it's just to volunteer my tea making service at one of the Psyball events sometime in the future or make sure that everyone I ever meet at a party gets a hug and a giggle X
