What you want and what you get are two different things.
Do you want a K+B combo with VB1? Please listen to psytrance produced in the last 10 to 15 years - or in all that music is there not a good K+B combo in your opinion?...
If you really want some info on how to use VB1 to create a killer bassline, then please read this: http://forum.isratrance.com/the-mother-of-all-basslines-thread/
All the info you require is in there.
If you want to keep on being stubborn, then stop being an ass, and please stop trolling around the site picking on whoever tries to take you seriously.

I think that astrix - monster (remix) has a flat vb-1 bassline...
and the "eye to eye" album has a lot of vb-1 basslines as well. |

This thread made me curious so I did a little testing with VB1. One thing I notice is that it produces a very asymmetrical waveform. It makes the whole mix asymmetrical and makes the stereo bus limiter work harder than it needs to for the same volume. (And will make the PA work harder too I reckon).
I didn't spend too much time trying but so far I am not too impressed by the results.
Anyway, I'll upload the result of my little experiment when I reboot to my other Windows partition. (No FTP client installed on my music partition).

Here is the quick example: http://puretone.nl/files/VB1-Test.mp3
It makes the mix sound strange. It actually sounds out of tune! If I switch between this and the original bass the VB1 sounds higher in pitch. (Same notes...) It is weird....
Obviously it could be tweaked better but still... not impressed. It think PoM is right!

i like VB-1, its hardly the main synth anyone uses but wow it definately stands out as when you hear it.
not so much with undertows example, it sounds like vb1 forced into sounding modern due to the bass given a low pitched and filtered place on the stage.
I like vb1 to sound slightly wooden/hollow and clicky but i cant say it doesnt sound "lo-fi" in a good way!

there's a ton of good music made using it for Bass.
don't see why anyone would need more examples. what some people fail to realize is that it's all about how it sounds in context with the other sounds that makes it either good or bad. there's something to it's sound that's not easily reproduced elsewhere.

try and cut less highs, I like the bass presence in this, but think the contour of the sound could be enhanced by allowing more of the signal to come through. rest of the mix sounds nice to me and also like your style. keep it up |

KVr lists it as "virtual bass emulation with selectable pick position" but does anyone know if its just sample based or something else?
i could have sworn someone here claimed it was physical modelling..?

Thanks but regardless of anything else, it sounds "out of tune" with the rest. And it is still producing a very asymmetrical waveform that is pushing the mix limiter in all the wrong ways making the mix sound rather wonky. (And letting through more highs on the bass just makes the VB1 sound worse...)
Here is the same section with Zebra doing the bassline. The whole mix sounds fuller, louder and it is more in balance: http://puretone.nl/files/Zebra%20Example.mp3
VB1 goes back to the legacy draw where it belongs.

Funny, I find one with VB-1 actually better, flowing nicely, more urge and energy

Interesting. There is a certain tension indeed. I think it might be because it is out of tune. (But it could also be the kick. I EQed it a bit differently and it is poking through a bit more. I still need to fine-tune the mix properly).
Anyway, it messes up the rest of mix too much on my monitors.
