I strongly recommend the firefox browser with adblockplus to everyone, who likes to get rid of ad: http://adblockplus.org/en/

Without topics like this one I wouldn't even know about the ads at isratrance

It is a good idea to charge per promo post - it is a more open and direct way of exchanging energy for space and visibility. Charge 5-10$ per post - enough to make people value the space they use.

the changing banners do my head in

the people who created and uphold this space are free to do whatever they wish with their creation. that is the bottom line.
honest self interest is the way forward - if you keep this space interesting people will be glad to support your work with their hits,words and maybe $
