Also this forum is far from dying, in fact its the one I visit the most, and I welcome posts from artists and labels.

the actual promo section is very good but,
all the posts about relaxed music are just covered by a big Zunami of bootty shaking style....... 
the posts are moving to fast there, no chances to be on the first page more than 1 or 2 days...

I like it more tidy instead...or at least a chaos with less promotions.
I think the days of "there is trance and the other music" are over now and we deserve a proper promotional section here, expecially for those who do promo job.
infact I understand why you don't want to use the normal promo section...I had a look there...and I am scared that it will happen the same over here very soon.
(at one point all this fullon/dark spy trancers will chillout and come over here....aaahhhhhh).
I know that now I may get some heavy rain on my head but I would suggest to our mods to have a look at this forum:

Moreno's right... the reason people promote in this forum is that anything put in the promo zone gets swept aside too quickly by all the full on stuff...
having 2 ambient zones - one for selling and promoting and the other just for exchanging ideas and appreciating the art that connects and inspires us all would make this a more interesting and functional place...

I kinda like the mix. I like the info from labels, together with the reviews, conversations, best ofs and the rest. I feel that we have exactly the right size of sub-community to hold it all together. It's pretty clear what is a promo post and what is not and I can choose what to read when depending on what I want. I think this mix makes it more interesting. Dividing the forum further makes it less of a real community and is something that needs to be done only when you have too many users, till you arrive in a situation that those that have something in common and want to talk about it can't do it anymore.
I like things as they are now.
People who over promote get noticed, and in my long years of experience pay for it in the end. People are not dumb and they see through that in the long run.
idmforums are the only other ones I frequent, and they are indeed over organized and over strict. I don't think it makes them deeper or more interesting. Just oriented in a different direction.

my question was really not attacking anyone
I think there are good points all around.
Vector and shahar posts are right.
maybe it would become less of a community or too slow.
I personally enjoy more the electronica section this days
and not only for a question of music style but because is even more quiet and chilled over there...less promotion too.
btw
I would like to see a section (or a folder at least)
for the tech tips and music production stuff.
Moreno did a post long time ago about it...(I am looking for it in the old pages but is a long job).
I know that there is already a section like this but also there same problem...tons of post about how to do massive lead sounds or the perfect takadukaduka bassline over and over again.
I think it would be nice for us music makers to share.

why not lock this "stuff" and go post all the new mixes in the right place ? (promotion/dj sets)

Given this is a commercial space first and foremost, limiting sales oriented posts could perhaps reduce traffic and make advertising here less attractive.
Maux's original point about this forum is consistent with Shahar's response re individuals who over promote.
