yeah, i think most of americans doesnt like trance...just that hip-hop bullshit...here in brasil we have much more parties, specially when u consider that US is a bigger and richer country. Brasil trance scene is growing fast and is already bombing, we have closed party with 2000+ plp and festivals with 5000+ plp...nothing like uk and germany, of course...

Well Denel, that is wonderful that you are enjoying the scene is Brazil, and you think Brazil is somehow a 'better' place than the U.S. But let me tell you, you are preaching to the wrong crowd. We people ARE the few that love the trance, who cares about the others? If you hate that 'hip hop bullshit', I suggest you go to a hip hop chatroom and do your shittalking, because no one cares about that here. And also, I actually like the smaller parties that dont have '2000+ ppl and festivals blablabla' because they are much more intimate and everyone on the dancefloor can connect with each other. Believe me I've been to some huge fuckin parties in Tokyo that blow germany and england away, but it is not nearly as great as the Goa Gil gatherings deep in the mountains of Northern California with 300 of the craziest fucking people on earth. Even though it makes no difference to me what you think about the U.S. or whatever, let me tell you for your own sake that if you just open yourself to the things you normally dont open up to, you just might find something you never expected. That is just my 2 bits. Have a nice day Denel.

Spliffnik is right. I live in Los-Angeles more than 7 years now (I am orignally from Israel), I have been in big parties in Israel with thousnds of people, but the best parites for me were here in Los-Angeles with about 400-800 people.

The Los-Angeles scene was dead for a while but is starting to come back slowly, It is already a good sign.

We in the US (me in LA) have no need to defend our scene against these rediculous satements. Our scene is fine the way it is and I am truly looking forward to GMS and Hux Flux on Friday. Nothing can take away the excitement I have for this awesome party. Peace Denel and much luck to you on your quest for the next Massive.

hello everyone
firts of all i want to apologyze myself for what i´ve said. I didnt mean to say what u guys understood. i cant express myself the way i really want in english, so u guys took me wrong. i just wanted to say that u.s scene should be stronger, and u guys that are the few that love trance should work on in order to improve it, or not, if u think the scene is already the way u want it...
thats it

denel, good words... all the people you see in this forum are working hard to better the scene, no matter if its satisfactory to some of us, we are all actively pushing it forward... this doesnt neccesarily mean huge parties, just more quality in the scene itself... ie: radio air time, more promotion, more awareness... stuff like that.

i look at your thread and dont see anything there except a point to try to annoy americans or trancers who live in america... you are right the scene should be stronger, and its on its way to that.           "On the other hand, you have different fingers."

Come on guys..don't you know anyone with limited English abilities? He wrote quick and excitedly and came off as an ass but I don't think that was his intent.

Denel, it all depends on what you are trying to get out of the parties. If you just want to fry your brain and get lost in the crowd or just feel like your in a carnivale environment then I could see why 2000+ is a comfortable situation.

The US is one of the most diverse countries in the world so you will find many different and quality concerts and parties besides trance where thousands of people attend and it's not just the "hip-hop bullshit". So, we don't necessarily want that or need that for trance.

Trance is a way of life and a spiritual experience. We are fortunate to have so many different people from so many different places in this country and we are fortunate that trance isn't a big commercial race to see who can make more money (we have enough of that in the U.S.).

I think we are proud of the fact that we have maintained an intimate, positive and fun scene where you could probably meet everyone (including the artists) and get to know the people you party with personally.

Big is not better here...if a form of music, like trance, and the culture that goes with it has the power to change lives and strengthen the spirit then the less attention you have from lawmakers and authorities the better...besides I don't want to turn on the radio and hear the Britney Spear's remix of Reload           Fighting for peace is like fucking for virginity...

I don't know. Based on what he said, it sounds as if he was putting our scene down and saying how much better it is in Brazil than in the US. However, if he says he meant otherwise, then ok. I believe him.

On the other hand, the people on this forum shouldn't have to respond to people's comments by interpretation, but by their statement. They should think about what they say before they say it.

Also, I don't agree with hearing trance on the radio, because of all the attention it brings (some good, but mostly bad in my opinion). I guess as long as the vibe and intent is pure then who am I to judge?

the ny scene is great because each party is intimate and mostly contains ppl who are there to peacefully, spiritually, and collectively enjoy themselves. the energy of a massive is great too but intimate family like gatherings to me are more special.           ein chadash tachat hashemesh. there is nothing new under the sun. --kohelet.

Zero - Same with the LA scene and for the most part we would like to keep it that way.

Give it a couple of years, and it'll grow.. I just saw a reference to Hallucinogen In Dub album in a jam band magazine (i hate jam bands, but it was free! ) Apparently a band called 'Sucka Punch' plays instrumentals of Ott tracks. I think we're going to see more of that.

By the way, Gugha - Burning Man is a lot more than 2000 people. more like 30,000.

i saw this band sucka punch once, they contain members of three different jam bands(sound tribe sector 9, the new deal, and the disco biscuits) that actually incorporate electronica into their "songs". The kids who go to these concerts are for the most part ignorant of psytrance in general(thankfully )

but judging by the cult status and popularity that these bands have achieved within their scene i have a feeling that the us scene is going to grow exponentially over the next couple of years. first the bands notice and then these kids will notice that what their really looking for lies in the trance scene. but i have to say that sucka punch and the other bands associated with it do actually play some nice instrumental psychedelia.
