I disagree, as I can quote myself from 6 years ago hehehehe, my opinion still is that actually when there is no music played, the acid takes you into much more intense experience. This is experience with self and with nature, and in my opinion it's also much harder to cope with, since music is the perfect get-away from our inside as it is a perfect get-away from our outside

When there is no music, the wind and the trees and the birds and the little insects supply you with the music, endless rhythms of it connect you to the world that surrounds you and you get the biggest gift of all that this substance can give - getting close to the real roots of our being, to our planet, to the green and the brown and the blue. And ofcourse get inside yourself.. And sometimes that is too much.

When the electronic music takes control, then it is totally different ballgame - altho still intense and still outstanding by all means, this game takes you into experience that is not as deep as the one without dance music played.

imo

I disagree with you man on this point the most intense experience for me is when all the people are on acid in a festival and you feel you are one with the nature the music and the people! Being one in this togetherness and love for the music enhanced perception comes through your mind and soul is connected with the true energy of trance...There is nothing compared to this experience! Nothing!

I started taking acid about 12years ago and used to take it in the nature with my friends, so i experience what you talk about and it's great, but i cannot compare to for example Infected Mushroom Live in Australia about 8 years ago! Life changing experience man! For me Trance is the key to a high quality dance experience which is uncomparable to any other music or feeling in the dancefloor!

my 2 cents           Boom :)

Don’t you think that music is also part of this nature?....

Anything around you and within you is part of the evolution creation. And there are very deep places that you can get into it, in this universe but these places needs special keys. The best and fastest key for the universe hackers that would to see the source code of this universe: is psytrance.
((and yes, there is a source code to this universe, and can be changed, but only super hacker can do it coz it has massive security - not recommended to try).

You can get inside the tunes…something that is difficult to do when there is no music coz your mind starts to generate non stop things coz its loaded since you were born a lot of information that confuse you and doesn’t help.

But when there is music around you then you can focus into it…and repeat the tunes in your mind, in endless loops…very deep…deeper…then bammmm you get a new places. You can see how this universe were created, the true evolution,…and you may meet some nice aliens, and see white light mixed with black... new power…then you realize that everything around you is made from same material…its kind wavs…good wavs and bad wavs in same time. You decide what to have.

And now I shut my mouth coz I have a lot of this non sense talk

Boom and peace

The beginning is very important.
1.First you must find something that you like in psy trance and start to feel the music and after you can make some experiments with lsd if you like.

2.But if you first use some lsd and after you start to listent to psy trance or start dancing at parties is very wrong because you will never listent to psy trance again or dance with this music without using some substences....

There are a lot of people who started with the 2nd example and they can not come to a party even for ONE time without using substences.
It is truly a shame.

Absolutely agree with you here!

Nice thread.. thanks for digging it out!

Very interesting topic Kaz, and nice interesting reading material here from many.

I must begin and say that I’m not really a researcher of psychedelics and psychedelic culture. But I have been taking an interest and observing for quite a long time. I also did a fair share of reading myself, though I concentrated more on the subject of use of psychedelics and trance states in tribal societies.

Few questions that I thought of after reading your text and some of the other contributions.

First, I didn’t really understand the reasoning behind your saying that psychedelics break the barriers between reality and the brain. I’m interested to know how do you think they do that exactly.

Also, how are we to be sure that they do not just create other barriers, different then the ones created by the limits of our senses and/or our logic/symbolic representations? On what do you base your saying that the senses when a person is under the influence of psychedelics supply the brain with “real” information? (What is real information?)

And more on the subject of trance parties & music and psychedelics:

I’m not so sure how many of the people who do psychedelics at parties are really motivated by the search for an intense inner journey that you mention. Moreover, I feel that a lot of people who do that don’t really try to define to themselves what is the goal of them taking psychedelics, either to begin with, or along the way. I’m also not sure how deep are their observations and how do these observations actually effect the way they conduct themselves in the world in the long term.

And that brings us to a big question- what did the psychedelic trance culture achieve in this world so far? What was the place of psychedelics in this achievement or non-achievement. This was raised before, of course, in the end of the previous modern western psychedelic era, in the 60s (it was rather gloomily presented in the often ignored monolog in the end of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, but we don't have to accept that particular view).

Interesting point. We must remeber that "reality" for us is limited by our senses. i.e. a long time ago we didnt know that colours in things are in reality the reflection of light, we didnt know UV light existed, they were beyond our senses.

So reality for a simple human is limited by its senses, psychedelics in general altare that reality expanding some senses but missleading others.

I think most people using drugs dont know why they do it, or they never realise why..

It a lot of ways drugs bring problems too (in Mexico for example the mafia is involved with some promoters).

Very interesting question, IMHO too many idealismn and too few activism.

The great problem with the hippies was that their intend to change the world thrugh idealism, idealism doesnt change anything if you dont work and implment those ideas on a concrete way that is productive and generates some outcome.

Not a very deep thinker are you? i know some people including me who take their psy very seriously (while having a blast obviously). it opens up channels in the mind that didnt exist before. i dont see how someone could enjoy psychedleic and not feel a deeper sense of connection *read spirituality* with the music/nature/space/ cosmos or anything for that matter. psychedelics are probably the best invention ever. its made people see beyond the obvious nutshell that holds us , our outer casing, and made people question the questions ,, the why is it like this part of the picture..

some god made some man made. whatever that god is.

Man ... whoever thinks LSD and the psychedelics are not complimentry of one another are the only ones living in ignorance... and when these 2 combine, it leaves you with a explosion of positivity. This positivity to stand in front of nature (which includes music, mother earth, human life) in humility and to consider ourselves blessed to be able to live on this beautiful planet. This empowers your own true nature deep within you, and thas where spirituality comes in place in our scene.

So there you have it - Drugs, Music, Spiritualism go hand in hand in this scene.

And yes, LSD plays a big part in that spiritual upliftment because it breaks the barriers of a human mind that have an impression of what the eyes perceive is the only truth and anything beyond that is illogical.

some good points there .. but u don`t need to drop acid to stand in front of nature (which includes music, mother earth, human life) in humility and to consider yourself blessed to be able to live on this beautiful planet. This empowers your own true nature deep within you, from my observations , there is faar more abuse than use of that substance hereabouts .. would u agree ?

no, you don't need to use an entheogen to enjoy nature or "consider yourself blessed to be able to live on this beautiful planet", but it definitely can intensify everything you feel, hear and see while under the influence of a hallucinogen. There is no doubt in my mind that it opens up new doors to your mind that I never have been able to reach in a "normal" state of mind. I know there is the argument that you can reach this state of mind without entheogens, and I don't doubt that you can, but I would have to say that it is a lot more difficult to reach this state without the usage. Would u agree?            "On the path of spirituality, one ventures to vanquish one’s own faults rather than to judge others"

Hey MK, I would agree with you that there is substance abuse when it comes to the entire music industry, but when it comes to only the psy scene... its a different story.

I say ... most of the people who are new in the scene... start experimenting and then they reach a point where they end up doing one more than they should have, thats when they come to their senses and respect the entire culture with a complete different state of mind where everythings done in limit. I guess thats where most of us are right now and here to stay.

On the other hand Psy scene is expanding... so you'll see more of these new boys which you couldnt before cause you were a part of it. And since its expanding you'll see a bunch of people who dont really belong there... but they'll always come and go. Also there is a little addiction factor involved which can tend to harm a few people and take away a few lives from us.

If we talking only lsd here... then I'd say from the 70's till now ... the abuse is reducing cause back then people didnt know the amount they were consuming... it was all liquid... our generation atleast thinks before doing... hehe.

About the first comment whether you need acid or not to respect what i had written, I'd say its subjective... Many people can see the beauty because of their natural personality and the trip would just enhance the entire experience, thats where many of us stand, but im talking of the other bunch of people who cant see this and if you take them to a great party with the right setting of speakers great friends lush green valley a great trip of acid... if the experience is postive it can break into the hardest and toughest of personalities and make them so aware of the peace of nature amongst the chaos of man...

Im sure youve seen people change and experienced what im talking bout yourself too. wouldnt you agree?
