I decided to give people a more scientific view of trance and psychedelics, and why they work together well. Many people asked about the connection between trance and psychedelic drugs. I will give a few of my observations on the subject. Have an interesting read. |

Trance music. Well, the simplest definition for this music is a music that gets a person into a trance. Sounds simple? Well, the implications of this are very interesting. A trance is something that is a personal experience. Everyone who is in a trance is in a world defined by his mind. The unity we all feel in the trance scene is not a unity while dancing - it is the unity of people who share something special. We all see eachother enjoying the music and feeling a great, wonderful spiritual experience derived from the trance we are in. We share the same love, everyone for his own reasons, but we are united in the thing that we enjoy the music in a way that most people don't know how to enjoy it. We enter a world that is half a dream, half the outside reality, travelling between the story in the music, the amazing depths of it and the crystal clarity that nothing else reaches. Needless to say, with trance music which has a lot of depth and a lot of things working together at the same time (on many levels), with the music probably being the most intense enviromental music known to man (the change in the feel of the track is the story, not the change in the notes or sounds, those are just tools), it is very easy to fall in love with this music once you get to see past the droning monotonic beats (again, they are a tool, not the creation).

One of the more interesting finds about what psychedelics actually DO, is that they lower the amount of sugars in the brain - causing some enzymes not to be created at the normal levels. Leary (specialized in LSD) and Huxley (Mescaline) among others connected these enzymes to the activity of the parts of the brain that create barriers between reality and the brain.
The psychological breakthroughs that can come from this are great - there is no such thing as an objective reality within the human world (since the human world is his/her own mind). Our communication is very limited, we use symbols to try and describe our experiences, hoping that the people around us have had similar experiences of their own (and each person is different, so we DON'T have the SAME experiences). What these substances do is break down the barriers between the brain and reality. The hallucinations that are caused are when the brain gets too much information and can't handle it. But before you reach that level (and even in that level), you experience something much closer to objective reality than humanly possible without these substances.
The brain reads everything as the eyes really see it, the sounds sound the way the ears really hear. This can get distorted by overdoing the substance without having proper discipline (there are 3 stages of the psychedelic experience, the more you reach this "spiritual discipline", the more you control the stage you are in).
But this is only the beginning of this. When you close your eyes, and think to yourself, you can shut down the outside world. You can live in your own mind, and travel much deeper than you did before. You can examine memories and experiences from your past through a stronger perspective, even when you took a dose that blurs the outside world completely.

When you hear a trance track (or any other music for that matter), you hear it sometimes clearly, noticing every minute detail in it with clarity that you never had before. And even when the sound distorts - your mind FEELS the music in a way that is much more powerful - without all of the psychological and mental barriers between the music and the mind itself. I've already mentioned the qualities of trance as a music. This fits very well with the activity of the psychedelic substances, as can be easily seen by anyone who read this entire (extremely long, sorry  ) text. This is why hearing trance on psychedelics is a mind-blowing experience.
And that's why people take acid at parties. Not for hallucinating and seeing pretty colors, but rather for an intense inner journey that can't be defined to people who haven't been there. This is also very dangerous with high dose trips - when you reach the highest level of psychedelic drug activity, you are at the highest risk of getting stuck on a trip, for one of two reasons - either you are having a really bad trip that totally strips you of your will to return to the world, or sometimes - you decide that you don't want to come back. You stay in the new world that has been opened to you.
So, in summary, don't do psychedelic drugs, because they are dangerous to the mind. You are opening the full forces of your brain, both concious and subconcious, and it's not always that easy to handle. But if you decide to do psychedelic drugs, you can achieve great enlightenment about your past, present and future.
And if you decide to hear trance while on such a substance, prepare for one intense and psychedelic ride.

its importent.
also wanted to add hash in this list. also psychedelic, much less dengirous (not at all) and in the same time make u able hear and feel the music, in the same time make u able be trance...
or its just old microgramms in blood ?????

Well, actually a little bit of both - THC has some mild psychedelic effects along with it's more "standard" (narcotic/downer) sides. And people have a much higher chance of getting a flashback (they happen at certain degrees, some of them pass unoticed) when the conciousness is not as clear as it usually is (this can be caused by smoking weed, drinking alcohol, and even just being very tired - there's a term for a flashback during sleep, but I forgot it... wonderful dreams though  ).
But really, if you want to get the most out of psychedelics, you need to learn how to channel these insights into something you can grow from. Psychedelics can be great tools to get rid of a lot of tough problems and emotions that you can't deal with in day to day life. The "spiritual discipline" is one's ability to focus through the haze of the drug. People who tried acid or other psychedelic substances tend to notice the psychedelic effects of THC much more not only because of remnants of other drugs, but also the fact that they know how to channel their thoughts in a clearer way through the haze of the drug.
It's really all about knowing what "input" you need to take in... but then again, words can't really describe this well, so I'll keep to the more scientific bits

Well another discussion here about trance music and drugs.
Trance aint related to drugs,just put that in your brain guys.
Whatever substance hides the reality from your eyes then its bad for yourself.
Open your eyes and see the world that you are actually living in and dont try to travel to other imaginary worlds,because reality afterall is what really counts and reality is the thing that we must change for a better future.

Uh, proffesor Kaz, good study of this subject. I am doing a report on Music and the Mind. Very good to hear your opinion.
Music without drugs can still put people in a trance state. Give people natural highs by the excitement(adrenaline and dopamin).
Drugs are just stuff that enhance that. |

My opinion about trance and drugs:
u want - u take drugs. u don't want - u don't take drugs. The main thing is attitude. U can think of it like Kaz, or like my mom (she hates any drugs, even hemp).
Why people ask about trance and drugs - it is trance forum. In other forums (techno e.g.) people ask - if techno and drugs connected. That's all about it.
