I have been dealing with this issue for many years.
I have entire groups of friends my beautifull soulmate has never met. I have put many parties on and she has not been to one for along time. It was a treat on new years when she did the door with me (it was very busy and she is a banker, and I paid her for her banking services lol)

And so I played her Thc texas by liquid the other day and she quiet like it, but I dont think that she will ever love this music as much as me. And thats a good thing, becasue we are diffrent, we are the same.

Also she has travelled to parties like the total solar eclisep in 2003, and worked on these festivals also.

I love her and would give up listening to trance in an instant for her. We have been toghter for eight years now.

Ditto.

But my ex which I lived together with for two years hated my music. (She fell in love with me when I was working as a commercial DJ in Greece. She might hate my music, but she loved the DJ part, which is sad in a way?) She didn't even like the chill side of it. She enjoyed the typical Top 20 tracks and such. Not a music person at all. In the end, we broke up because my life style and her didn't go so well together. She wanted to establish a family, I wanted to wait. Of course, she hated everything about thc and such as well. (I was straight while living with her.) The next girl that I fall in love with better be a cutie with similar music taste as I. Music is SO important. It reflects a lot of who you are ect.
Krell, seems like you got the girl of your dreams

Seems that Cutie is on a big demand indeed, there can be only one though i guess.Good luck to all the contenders heh.

By the way i never mess up with girls who are into psy trance music,i find them to be less feminine than what i like plus one person listening to banging music all day is more than enough in a relationship i guess.Plus most of them have some of the bad habits that come with psytrance music listening like the goa hippie attitude, drinking and smoking a lot and even dealing with strange substances sometimes.

I prefer college girls, they look better, they act better and most importantly they smell better heh.

Very interesting topic i must say!

When my bf started listening to trance, i would constantly niggle him saying how do u listen to this stuff-- i cant even tell the songs apart!! I wasnt very musical altogether n hadnt found myself then...

It was only when he took me to a goa party in Switzerland that i got infected n started loving the music and the whole scene I think it brought us alot closer because he eventually got into music production and we would spend hours together discussing the music and he gave me the title of being his music 'critic'!! Although i still do get annoyed n feel neglected when he spends hours in his studio but i know how proud i feel when i listen to his tunes or even better at parties when he's doing his live-act!!

Works out perfect now because we share music, organize small events together, he encouraged me to start mixing and passes all his retired equipment to me and just recently bought me a dj controller!!

He's not only my soulmate but an institution that i learned so much from- If your reading this just wanted to say thanks babe n i love u

mmmm, great topic!

I'm married, have two beautiful children, and my wife just HATES goa psytrance music. That's it - nothing to argue.

I understand points made by Nygma and Membrain Cell: I had to give up most of my trance life for my choice: much less party, harder to find the time to organize events, etc... She quite likes progressive goa though and really likes chill-out, which is good since I have an ambient live act and she's my first ear. (she has a classical music education, plays piano and do classical singing).

Of course, it was (and still not is) not an easy compromise, since I'd love to party like crazy every week-end... But I had to realize there is much more to my life than just trance... Since we connect on a very deep level, we are able to share on important and mainly spiritual matters that tie us together. Plus we have to raise the kids...

In the beginning, she quite accepted it and even went to party with me - but she came to the conclusion that we were all crazy  and that's not so wong.

More precisely, she believes our minds are being manipulated by higher forces, that we are not in control, total addict (not only to drugs, but to the atmosphere), that we live under a false sense of peace that is just illusion.... Sometimes I have the feeling she is right... But I love it just too much......

She respects my way of life (with a few clashes on the road), especially when it comes to the live-act, ("you go out DJing Full On, you do it just for fun!" "yeah, right...."), and even if she doesnt like it she lets me organize 3/4 parties a year and be booked in others...

If I had to choose between her (+familly) and trance? --- I NEVER want to have to choose. That's all. And trance has never been negotiable in our relationship
