It's post Simon school of psychedelic , most of UK producers do not produce fullon but psychedelic trance . He just produce intelligent music .Maybe i'm wrong in definitions but fullon is quick unintelligent psychedelic trance , so if i hear three stupid samples and two stupid melodies with filter , basic groove and ,melodic bassline done hundred of times i call it fullon other psychedelic .
Scorb , Dino Psaras , Prometheus , Manmademan , Shakta all psychedelic trance with their own touch like Shakta have progressive and drum and base touch in his music . |

Sorry this is going a little offtopic but anyways maybe a mod can do a split if it's too much offtopic.
So you think psychedelic trance is just a genre like full on or progressive trance or tech trance or minimal trance or whatever?

....................Many of artists have two or three main genres together like Buzzmonx or old Ticon is Techno , Progressive Trance and Psychedelic Trance together .

the way I see it
there's psytrance which can be anything from minimal to full on and progressive to tech as long as it's psychedelic
goa is just the old name for psytrance
ambient/chill out have really nothing to do with psytrance
techno has absolutely nothing to do with psytrance
finnish psychedelic.. umm i wouldn't name the genre like that.. it actually has a name.. suomisaundi
no such thing as minimal progressive.. it's just minimal trance
techno minimal.. this has again nothing to do with psytrance.. it's techno
ah well.. who cares anyways

Dimitri, old Ticon is not Techno, dude. Maybe as Tripticon, but not as Ticon...
Traveller, Prometheus is not full-on trance, it's just psychedelic trance, twisted rec style. Simple as that...
Come on people what's with all these categories? Get a grip! Listen to good music that you like to listen to and the rest is trivialities...
You know what's wrong now? In the old days there was not progressive trance, full-on or whatever you wanna call each style now.
There was only psychedelic trance, although there were tracks produced that were more proggy, or more full-on or darker. But all was psy-trance.
All of you people try to distinguish all these trivial details and you miss the big picture...that as long as you like what you listen to, the rest is not important. Don't hope 2 much 4 something cause u may end up getting it... |

i really really wish this style can grow whit time... i mean,... sometimes it seemed psytrance .... fullon are the only that it exist!!
and damn! progressive trance is so so so awesome music....  is just fantastic !!... and theres alot of people alot of artist working here, but need to be more wanted... as fullon.......!?!...... hmmm dunno

I think progressive is growing and it will grow much more because people got tired of the same music (formula = full on).
What proggy needs now is better parties.

Doh, I just wrote that it's not full on for sure. What's this twisted records style you speak of? You mean the Unsual Suspects, Twisted Sessions vol.1, Younger Brother, Robot-O-Chan thingy? Granted those 4 bear some similarities in style but that's it really. The rest good 20 releases don't really sound that similar to them if you ask me.

Ticon's groove based on techno , so it has techno touch also . I'm techno freak os i know what is techno groove . Trust me .
Traveller
Minimal Progressive is Commandos , Paste , Loom . It is not progressive because it not has any vibe just kick , bass , percussion and three FX .
Finnish Psy trance is different and it's sub genre in psychedelic because i can list here atleast 20 projects who produce same style like Pelinpala the inventors of it . |

oh trust me i can list 40 finnish psy bands..
i'm just afraid i fall to the category who would call this genre "monkey on the keys"
but yes there are a few good finnish psy acts, even in the suomi style, but i don't really find them psychedelic at all
and what about loopus in fabula and the crazy ozzies? they create that kind of music aswell but aren't finnish..

Finnish psy it is a sub genre of psy trance , some Israelis , Australians and Danish produce it aswell . Loopus in Fabula(Italy) seems same genre . Funky psy if you like if finnish sound too nationalistic . |
