Yep, am sure it will sound amazing, and looking forward to hearing what you think of them! Will probably hit you up with a PM after we move to Paris, as I'd like to pick your brains about room treatment!

PS: How are you liking the Crookwood converters? They were a huge step up for me. I have a custom M1.

I'm quite pleased with the crookwood converter. The insert switcher is really fast and practical. I have the C3 (switcher/router + conversion) only, since I didn't need the monitor controller part, which is done by my dangerous convertor + passive level switch.

And feel free to PM me : always nice to talk to others engineers           http://www.storm-mastering.com

What do you guys think of the JBL LSR305's? They've been getting stellar reviews everywhere, including gearslutz. I already have a pair of Dynaudio BM6A but since they're so cheap ($300 for a pair), i'm really tempted to get them as reference monitors. Since they're so small & light, they'll be easy to take around as well when i travel.           http://www.soundcloud.com/getafixmusic

right, last post here is long ago, wondering if this section gets readers, anyhow

i am mixing on adam s1x, 5 year old ones, and since i treated my room quite a bit, 4 x 3 m, 2,5 high, i am missing lowend from these 5' speakers. banot nice for mixing but also a bit uninspiring when listening.

opting for new monitors in the around 1000-1200 euro range.

EVE audio SC208, Adam A77X look like good candidates.

other idea is to put a sub, cheaper solution but still half the price and maybe not really helping for tidyness in the lowend.

anybody here with ideas for other speakers in this price category that do not need a sub and have good lowend.
most interested in experiences with..

Very happy EVE Customer here...but i prefer the 207 to the 208 (even if you have the space for the larger woofer). Despite the ribbon tweeter the sound is not too bright and the low end is so precise. You can work for hours without being fatigued.

I'm also a sucker for Dynaudio and you can score a good deal on all MKII models as they are half price due to the release of the MKIII series. A pair of BM6 MKII will cost you a bit more than 1000 €

Sub is always tricky even in a treated room. If you have the space and the proper treatment go for something with enough low frequencies. Regarding the EVE, the 208 have more low end than the 207 but i find the general sound of the 207 more "balanced".

My studio (room) is treated ( panels and bass traps) though nothing to fancy and in there the 207 are easier to work than the 208. The low end in the 208 really demand a proper space (size+treatment).

really curious about these and the yamaha hs8 ,these seems montitosr to check even when owning high end ones.

hs8 sound a bit like ns10 for today needs with more extension ,thye tell you what is wrong ,what you need to fix jump at you from what i read

for example check this post i already discussed with him sometimes our taste differ but i know he is serious about production and quality plugins and gears

or hs7, hs8 go down very low the extra hz might be useless if the room is not suited and hs7 might have better mid... both to check

MSP range (5 and 7) much more neutral than the HS range, if you can still find them. Little more pricey but well worth it. I hate the HS sound.

did you check the new one? not sure if it sound the same as the old one, old line are hs80 and hs 50 if i remember, would be really curious to try hs7 and hs8 it s made by guy who created the ns10 ...could be just hype.. but would not be surprised for the price these are great.
if i m not mistaken he sold is atc and kh310 cause he get better mix out of the hs8 in a pro room , really show monitors are a personal thing maybe i would hate them too..only mixing on these can tell..

totally agree with him on some highend monitors giving you tone of info but not necessary what to do with them it get me lost .. while some monitor may show a lot less but show you what really need to be fixed in a brutal way.. starting rhe mix on this and then moving to the really detailed pair i find often lead me to mixing faster and better result.

msp5 are maybe a bit small imo for mixing dancefloor music, no low end but these are decent yeah

mixcube are praised for this but dunno if these could be really useful for dancefloor music ( it will be usefull for sure for the mids and balancing volumes and probably for timings as there is no crossover and it s sealed if i m right but if it worht the price for this i dunno...)

need to try these too..might buy just one for starting mix and balancing and as reference for checking.. these are supposed to be really good at this.

They are wonderful for what they are. I'm buying a set this weekend. For the price they have great neutral sound and as you said are very light. The bass isn't amazing but the subwoofer to go with them isn't expensive.

I'm getting them as currently the room I use is untreated and I don't think it's worth getting expensive monitors for an untreated room.

There are some wonderful 3-way monitors coming out from the a likes of Eve etc. that I'll look in to once I have built a proper room.           Cuntus Maximus.

just ordered the JBL LSR308, expecting to get the dancefloor low end feeling from the 8' woofer, 60 days return possibility, if no good i swob them with the eve's 207. at 450 euro a cheap solution. not expecting top notch speakers but critical mixing i still can do with the adams, this set is just a replacement for the 30 euro logitecs that were untill now my low-end reference. will report abt the 308's soon hopefully           http://soundcloud.com/vipal

the jbls 308 are good for the money. a bit harsh in the highs. good thing is that the 8' woofer is no problem for my small place (3,6 x3,7 x2,3 m.), so i pulled the trigger for a pair of event opals, the jbls will probably go back. selling the adams also, they are useless in my treated space, interesting to find out the effect of treatment is so huge. got my studio heavily basstrapped and heavy curtains on most walls. will A/B the jbls and the opals.
