I used to use a korg 12/12 for the first years of making trance stuff, and i just got the fire face 800 like 6 months ago and as you all said, the clarity and frequency range is unbelievable.

I know ppls oppinions differ, but i think i can say this is one piece of equipment that everyone will agree is the best in its field.

They Rock and they pricey.

Fingax , chek this out:

will give you better understanding of SNR .          I fear nothing, so I will remember myself.

Fingax - thomann is expensive...
check ebay, some great amercian shops..
though maybe you already bought it... but you could have saved alot of money....

$1250 at ebay, for a new one
$1600 at thomann for a new one..

thats a huge diference..even if you get to pay some customs..

Anybody work with new EMU M-Series cards (1212m,1616m,1820m) ?http://www.emu.com/products/welcome.asp?category=505& .

The E-MU features: Mastering grade 24-bit/192kHz converters - the same A/D converters used in Digidesign's flagship ProTools HD 192 I/O Interface delivering an amazing 120dB signal-to-noise ratio.

Hardware-accelerated effects - over 600 standalone and E-MU Power FX VST plug-in effects with no CPU overhead.

PatchMix™ DSP zero-latency hardware mixing and monitoring - with super-flexible patchbay - no external mixer needed.....

and other features with cheap price.

i have 1820m and it`s quite decent sound card. better than maudio fw410 in my opinion. personally i don`t use the fx that come with the package. it has a nice sound for its price.
