hmm tried ebay here but didn't found a used one. 550 € would be fine. I try to find one, maybe at some later time some nice offer will appear on ebay. I'd be more than happy with that interface.           https://soundcloud.com/shivagarden

Never heard about this soundcards ^ I really like this one:

I've read pretty good statments about this interface. On their side they tell:
https://audient.com/products/id22
"..iD22 has the best mic preamp found on any audio interface and instantly provides a platform to produce outstanding recordings."

...which makes it even more interesting.

It has just no midi ports which is a bit of a pity. I'd also like to know what kind of latency I should expect from this card but couldn'f find anything to that. Tempting. But no midi port is also a minus in this context.           https://soundcloud.com/shivagarden

No Midi....2 inputs....1000 €....3 minus!

For sure the preamps can be amazing but still....i'm not recording instruments (guitars, bass, drums, etc....) so doesnt look very attractive. I'm still in Babyface pro mood!

You can get this card for 468€ (brand new)

http://www.thomann.de/de/audient_id22.htm

I am looking for dead stable card and with as less as possible latency. This is most important. 2nd most important thing for me is indeed high quality preamp for microphone recordings. No noise nothing just juicy powerful preamps. Therefore I like better 2 really good preamps than 8 nice ones.

How many external synths can you set up with Babyface? Or how many Midi-ports? Can you tell what latency I could expect of this card? I really have no clue what to buy. 500€ is a lot of money for me and I know you can buy for this cash also cards that are rather crappy.

I saw a different price in another website....1000 €! Like this it looks better for sure.

The babyface pro has 4 inputs that allow you to connect synths plus ADAT (or SPDIF).

I read some reviews on the Audient and all sound good (plus the send option looks really nice) still i would save and get the Babyface pro.

Was actually looking at the cheaper ID14 (~255 euro) which I came across at a promo booth at a conference here, really nice build, however with all the noise in that place could not really hear it do it's thing. Specs look great though.

Greetings,

I currently own an access virus ti polar and I am looking at adding a second synth (Nord Lead 4 Rack) to my gear. I'm currently using the virus' onboard soundcard as my interface as my Focusrite 2i4 did not have the correct buffer size and latency settings to be compatible with my access virus.

So my question is this: I'm looking for a good interface with enough inputs for two synthesizers to allow recording into cubase and which offers buffer size settings that are compatible with both Access Virus and Nord Lead. I would like to have both synths connected simultaneously and working at all times. Budget around +-$1500.

Any suggestions/advice would be much appreciated.

thats a decent budget, i like rme, also because of the analyzer software that is provided. but for sure more brands will for that budget deliver a good soundcard. motu when you are on mac. focusrite?
check the model you have in mind at gearslutz before you buy. good luck.
by the way: i use a virus TI on usb without any problems on rme uc, nordlead is analog ins i presume.

RME does not seem to have kept up with the new generation. All still USB 2.0. Wondering if a lightening interface better than standard USB. Anyone here with some inputs on this ?
