I did not mean to make it from scratch IN Audacity, I mean to readjust its envelopes to make it sound good. I have like 5 kicks I do not use just because I know what I need to change with them but I cannot operate the sound editors in the way I want.

What exactly is the problem with your kicks? And why do you think you can cure it in Audacity, when you can't do it with any other 'editors'?

Audacity probably isn't the way to go when it comes to synthesizing kicks (although there may be a number of plug-ins that can be used to do it in a more or less decent way).
Other than that: Shit? Not at all! The older versions kind of sucked, due to the bad handling but the newer ones can be a real help, especially when you care to take a look at the pretty much endless number of plug-ins to use with it. And it's free! Yay!

Anyway, he already said that he doesn't plan on actually synthesizing the kicks in Audacity. He wants to 'shape' them using it. Dunno what he means by that but I guess eventually he will tell us

its better to edit it in DAW. realtime with bass. if you do it in external editor, then you eill have to edit it again when you play kick with bassline.
btw every daw can edit volume/pitch envelopes           http://www.beatport.com/release/cross-the-atoms/1042450

I simply need to adjust them properly. I want to be able to adjust a particular part of them, not ALL of them. If you guys watch this tutorial by Psilocybian you will understand it exactly as this is exactly the kind of procedure I am looking for (he is not using Audacity here):

Reason I want to use Audacity is because I think it is better at sound processing than Cubase for a various number of reasons.

When you guys say Audacity sucks I have no clue what you are talking about, it makes me think you have not tried it in a very long time. I think Audacity is top notch, among the absolutely best free software in existance.

You r rite been a while , didnt get on with the layout etc,if its free then cant copmplain i guess..but all your doing is shaving of the volume at ends u can do that in any daw and wont make no difference on bit quality am i right ? dunno...bazzsm worth getting as you can do all that on it,has its own ADSR, coz like Alien bug says ya gunna need them both rolling,so it nice to be able to adjust on the fly to get them both complimenting easier instead of makin more work for ya self in the long run..in the midi sense, Psilocybian shows u the sampling sense of fitting them. i ask for kick pack not long ago and 2bf i havnt used a single one just on the basis that u have to be choosy and "restricted"

It's actually quite easy to do that in audacity. Just apply the so called 'Envelope Tool' to your sound file and adjust it as desired.
The Envelope Tool button is between the 'Play', 'Record' etc. buttons (on the upper left side)and the Output meter. It's the one with the two triangles facing each other and the small blue line between them

Oh, my sarcasm detector exploded.

I got the Cubase version 5 and not the latest, but yeah. The built-in noise reduction in Audacity is superior even without speakers (as it is automatic and the cubase version is not). It is slimmer, you can use plugins to Audacity, and because it is lighter you can use more plugins without losing performance.

audacity is great software but I use it sometimes to clean things up or analyse. I think it does need a bit of working into it to get the grips behind it.

I made a kick with Es2 with a verb maybe someone can give critic, is it a no go?

I was never happy with my kicks with sylenth. always something didnt like...

so...after some tweaks we made some really nice kicks with it!!
with little bit of distortion - overdrive, phaser with 0 lfo rate and gain & spread all the way up, eq and compressor.

download em here and tweak em like hell
