Been using "Audio Technica - ATH-M50" for a few years. They are simply awsome.

ultrasone headphone look like big joke , look at that curve , for sure it sound good wiith a curve like that but it s not what you want for mixing

Hehe, crazy..looks not so good actualy

Bute well, the sound is very clear and with a good stereo image. I would still prefer them over beyerdynamic , when it comes to have fun while doing music..for actualy mixing i might consider simply monitors and not headphones.

i'm planning to pick up the Sennheiser headphones or technics. Still not too sure because it depends on my budget.

How are the Ariel7 Headphones?

closed ath m50 + akg 701/702 open, i think this combo once used to it, it s possible to get result in same league as expensive monitors in decent room.

the akg sound so spacious , i find it s real pleasure to listen psytrance on it, you re really inside and can ear so much details.listening music to this cans it s long time i didn t have such a great lisetning experience.
it s hardest to drive headphone i used compared to dt770/880 250 ohm and ath m50 so maybe the sound is picky on what you plug it..read reviews it sounded sterile with harsh highs but not my impression so i think it s when pluged on cheap headphone output. the frequency reponse is kinda flat for a cans with no hyped lowend and the transients are good to me

if you go in a store try it just by curiosity,it s a experience, specially if you have some well mixed psytunes and you re stoned lol it sound awesome , some serious review like on headphone.com site say it compete with cans around 1000

I have AKG 701 and i just got the Focal Spirit One for reference..

I have to say that after enjoying with Akg 701 for few years everything else sounds boosted. They so airy and natural sounding cans that i just deeply love them. You need a good warmy headphone amp thought, to get the true power out from Akg.
Focal ones are good too, my first closed cans. Very bassy but still clear and nice highs. Suiting maybe better for mastering than mixing while 701 is truely dream one for mixing.

Some says that Akg has very thin bass but i can hear the most deepest basses from those, they are just not boosted like every else. They are on very nice balance with other soundscape. And you can truely hear some high end dynamics on 701, just amayzing.

I had HD600 ones but i gave them to my father for free when i got the Akg           - - - - -
