recommend very much sony studio headphones.
several models, several quality.

i'm using MDR-7506. good sound. im very used to them for reference.
it says big "STUDIO MONITOR" on the headpiece.

i choose between Sony MDR7506 and, more expensive, beyerDynamics DT770
According to reviews the DT440 have hyped low-end, very comfy, very little ear fatigue. good quality.

Sony
Good price. very good reviews.

I've been using the same DT-100's for about 5 years now. They seem to have a way of telling me what's going on in the 150-400hz range that my lazy assed monitors never had the guts to tell me.

Very using for mixing that precise punch right where it counts

i really like the sound of the ultrasone phones..imo way better than beyerdynamic and akg together..even got the sony mdr and sound too muddy for me..

sadly the ultrasone r pretty expensive but really worth the money imo..

I'm using the Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro - and am very happy with them. They're not closed headphones, so I use them only in studio.

If you use headphones ALOT consider trying an extra headphone amp that boosts signal - I hear this helps lessen ear fatigue.           Cytopia.org

ooh...those bayerdynamic cans are nasty

sennheisers are good too...i've tried the HD 650...open back...crisp sound...good for reference

however i don't use headphones for monitoring much...

when im playing i use the sony MDR v700 my first love
heheh

also good for dj's are the technics PRDJ 1200...used them to death at the club...but they are like they are really tough...
(if you share your headphones or are hard on them...these are good)
i can explain it to you...but i cannot understand it for you...

i use the beyerdynamic DT770, wearing them you don´t hear what happens around you, just you and your music!
i bought them beacuse i hadnßt enough money for good monitors, but they do their job!            http://soundcloud.com/psyahuasca

My neighbors cannot abide noise, so no producing with nice speakers for me... I have a pair of Roland RH-D20 headphones, they are Quite Nice - hard to hear some of the lower frequencies sometimes though, but that might be my ears ^.^

I've had a lot of different headphones but I'm using Sony MDRV500 at the moment. I could've used my 100€ better, I know. But they sit pretty well when DJing and they're pretty accurate when monitoring music. Everything sounds pretty much shit, they're almost too honest =D

My speakers are Behringer MS40 bought for monitoring and they're doing a good job if you ask me, cost me a hundred euros too.

Skullcandy's are a joke for headphones, they've got some extra bass boost yeah but they aren't accurate at all and they're super bad for monitoring music. Also, they're very overpriced if you ask me.

Just got the Shure SRH440's, was a choice between them or AKG's or Sennheiser's; yet due to many people saying they needed amping to sound clear and are both coloured, chose the Shure's.

Also since Shure is known for durability (SM58), feel secure in choosing them, especially as many say they are very clear, with a good range.           www.wizanda.com www.soundcloud.com/wizanda
