The guidelines is a way to keep the forum psytrance-oriented. We have lots of other places in the Internet to talk about drugs, politics, mp3 trading, etc

i so totally disagree to this. if drugs and mp3 trading is part of the scene they should be represented in the forums. ADD A DRUGS FORUM. i had a thread frozen just yesterday over this, for trying to have people look at the acid/trance connection from a different perspective:
http://forum.isratrance.com/viewtopic.php/topic/61641/forum/1

PLEASE RESTART THE TOP 10 FORUM. as for trading, sean penning the creator of napster said: "information wants to be free". musicians should be content to make money from services (DJ acts) and not from products. why? because this is how the world is today. it has become this way because it benefits the consumers, most of whom can't afford to buy many releases. i know you THINK you'd have made more money selling CDs also, but IMHO you are WRONG. in all i think this market can be defined as "elastic": the more music gets to people the more people will want music. like what starbucks did for coffee shops. and that's good. we are so far from market saturation. the majority of the world still listens to junk. have faith.

as for the "killer" phenomenon, i haven't mined the isratrance database to the bone, but i think it's quite possible the parameters of trance music in the different genres have already been, to some extent at least, defined and covered in various posts (e.g. in track reviews). i'm not a musician, but this community is full with people who live the music and maybe THERE SHOULD BE A "WHAT IS TRANCE" FORUM. very good for newbies, but such a forum can actually accelerate what trance IS. accelerating information is what the internet is so good at!

- If you are an artist and you want to release music, produce a 143-146 bpm track with a VB-1 bassline, melodic-synth-lines and the typical hihat-snare section. make whooshes and fillins at the breaks and put a nice voice-sample into the mainbreak. The people will call it killer. If you want to release creative trancemusic, no one realy cares about it, so dont be creative.

Expect Giiwa Next Realese
or just listen please to the last one
same @ Exogenic rec, and some main twisted dark labels (then u have to use 150bpm and non melodic noises please )

Hmmm. I see Kitnams point in most of what he says but I think he's exaggerating a bit. Still mad respect for bringing up important issues and getting the discussion ball rolling. The thing I agree with most is how everybody tries to front like they don't download, the thing I agree with least is that people are intolerent of those who dont do drugs. The point I am undecided about is the idea that organized crimes role in parties is more than just taking advantage of a convenient market that exists as a result of so many people getting together in one place. In places where you really truly do need "unofficial" permission to throw a trance party, arent these places where you can't do very much of anything that involves a large sum of money without a certain "unoffical" someones blessing?
