in my opinion less known but extremely talented artists from abroad will definately spice up the event. those are low maintanence, affordable and need to be helped to get exposure they deserve.

about how to figure out who is responsible for international bookings and which promo group brings what to the table i suggest looking at the experiences of event organizers outside the us. people like megan of m.o.e. could be a great help since she worked at boom this year and sure gained valuable experience on how to handle this sort of things.

i would definitely love to see mexican and canadian peers among the us residents on stage and on the floor.

Really too bad you guys are planning this on the same date as Eclipse festival, which is the biggest North American trance festival right now... I'm sure a lot of people that have been coming to Eclipse for the last few years would have liked this event to be on another date to be able to come.. Good luck nevertheless.

True.

Not saying I expect you to change the date, just saying it is too bad both events are on the same date.

to answer the question about international artists, this is a festival that is dedicated to the psychedelic trance community and music that is occuring in North America. Anyone who is connected somehow to this community, regardless of nationality or country of residence, is invited to particpate. But there must be some connection to the community here.
and I am also sorry that the Eclipse festival is on the same dates... really a shame. We will have to link up psychically, and or/virtually, somehow!
and again, i just wanted to remind folks that this is not a M.o.E event, I am only a part of a core organizational team that comes from all across North America.
Look forward to more details coming soon! Its really great to see so much enthusiasm from people, keep your suggestions coming, we're listening
peace!

While a tad bit more expensive, I think having some international talent would be great. I think the focus can still be on North America's community even with international presence. Plus, it would show that North America's scene is not only rocking it hard, but doesn't get caught up in national boundaries and is open to the global psy scene. So if it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen, but I don't think having Intl artists would detract from the cause of the festival and if anything would enhance it.

That sucks about the Eclipse festival, because there's probably some good artists that will be there and not at A.U.M. and vice versa. The video link would be awesome though. It would be really cool to have a live act hooked up through the internet (one person at Eclipse and one at AUM) and they could both play at the same time with the music on both stages synched. Anything that either one does effects both the music in Can. and the US (with a live video feed of people dancing at the other festival). I don't know the logistics of whether that's even possible or not though...

Is there going to be a website for this? Then you could have a paypal link set up to start getting donations.

No, it's not. Sometimes I just like to throw out cool ideas that may or may not be possible (usually the latter) for kicks.

That sure would leave a whole of immense talent on the sidelines though.....I would love to see gil take the last day (or so) of this event but other than that I cannot see giving anyne more than a 2 hour set to allow for everyone with the appropriate skill set to participate !!! And of course I admit to my gil partiality!!!

"with a live video feed of people dancing at the other festival)"

Scatter that is an amazing idea! Though not neccessary but I think it would be appreciated. Even the VJ's can mess around with it and use it as part of thier show.
