Way to go Guys! That's the right attitude. As artists as well as human beings: allways be yourself and keep to your values. The system is fucking us up, so Big Thumbs Ups for pulling the alarm system... Lets keep psytrance "free" from "sponsors" & "orgas" who are fucking us!!!
Boom Shankar and once again full Respect to Baphomet_Engine!
Great spirit make great artists!

Some of you are big time hippocrits. I'll say without hessitating that 99% of you drink Coca-cola or another soft drink produced and owned by the Coca-cola Company.

Dont even try to come here now and lie to us and say you dont drink coca-cola (or as mentioned a soft drink from their product line) on a regular basis or at least occasionally.

drinking a can of coke once in a while, and supporting a large event sponsored by coke is a different ball game altogether.

I disagree. If you dont want Coca-Cola to sponsor a party because they are "capitalists", have a "low moral" and whatever you guys say about them then how come your willing to support Coca-cola and buy their products? Then your money is actually supporting their so-called "bad" moral.
At least it's BIG TIME double standard but somehow I dont think a lot of you are willing to agree because you know your skating on thin ice here.

I don't.

I think perhaps the only times I drink some coca-cola are when somebody offers me a whiskey coke in a bar..

Else, never..           .

yea in the first instance your are giving coke your money, in the second coke is spending money to try to get your attention in order to get people to give them money.
If you think letting coke spend money is more evil than giving coke money then your brain needs to go in for reservicing.

By the way Baphomet i love your 'i will kill you you fucker' spirit LOL

I love coca cola as a product plus i would love them to sponsor me so i guess i belong to the coca cola zombi category why the rest of you guys are gaia fighters.....

Way to go Millenium Goa Hippies...

Don't worry my good friend. Do as you like. You have the right to believe in what you believe. It is not a matter of being a Hippie, it is a matter of gaining consciousness about your actions in this world. We all know there is one path to enlightment and to transcend... It is a matter of choice to take it or not. Attachments to the material are a real bitch and sense gratification is another one.

If a trance party is just a profitable music event, then IMHO the spirit and the sense of ritual has been lost. Trance parties have a function and a reason, they should not be treated as another hedonistic event.

For the tribes who believe in the trance dance ritual... if you do not believe in commercialization, so be it. We do not have to convince anyone of our own actions. We should continue looking forward and creating a new way of life. It is not worth to rage against Babylon since they will self destruct eventually. It is written in a few books here and there Keep that internal peace in check and don't rage. We know what we are doing is right in our hearts.

BOM!

Hand...
I think that that attitude you are taking is one of the biggest things that is holding back progressive movements around the world. Your attitude seems to be that if you are not 100% perfect in living an anticorporate life then you should 100% submit and allow youself to be a corporate whore.

I beg to differ.

I think that any way that people can find to help progressive causes, either by making a statement or by doing something physical that will make life difficult for those who stand in the way of a truly free and egalitarian society.

I admit that I am not entirely free of Coca-Cola products. They can be hard to avoid. Coca-Cola bought exlusive rights to all beverage sales on my college campus, so they were the only choice I had. But I avoid their products absolutly whenever I can. I dont buy their Sodas, their Fruit Juices (sold under the name "Minute Maid"... not even real juice actually). Similarly, I avoid going to a Supermarket when I need food. I go to the corner Mom + Pop grocery unless only the supermarket has what I need.

However I use electricity, computers, stereos and all sorts of other things made by big multinationals.

The point is that change comes in increments. Making a statement against the world being taken over by a few multinational corporations when it is convenient is better than not doing it at all.

I do not subscribe to the philosophy that if I cannot be 100% corporate free that I should give up and be 100% corporate whore.

Fight 'em where you can fight 'em, bide your time where you can't!

well this is why i think progressive movements get very little done. I dont get the mindset of "no matter how pointless the action is its better to do something instead of nothing as long as its sticking it to "the man"." Pointless actions, no matter how good the intent are still pointless.
I mean if your really against Coke why not take the promo money and donate it to charity or buy a bunch of cds with the money and give them away at the party?

I think advertising and accompanying consumerism are extremely harmful. They fill your mind, your body, and your soul with unnecessary junk. Plain and simple. I don't like to eat junk or hear junk or see it. Trance parties for me are a place of relative purity. I refuse to taint my psychedelic experience with invasive junk.
