A festival is about variety in music. not just fullon. And beside that I have heard that the organisers did a horrible job on the timeschedule of the artists. Blame the organisers for the bad flow in music. Not one artist that just do his job. Open up your ears to other music than the standard fullon this scene has developed into.

hmm...it aint everything about music in my post.. thing that bothers me the most is his approach!!! Like bugging DJ and unplugging headphones.. that is not the way the things should work!!!

THIS IS A BIIIIIG MINUS.. at least from my view!!! Cause i was there and i was there spinning!!!

You'll find her in any major festival worldwide, specially the german ones, 'cause that's where she's from, have no personal details on her though but I keep meeting her for about 5 years or more now and she always saves my ass with her Ice-tea stock The chick rocks bigtime !!! and is an absolute gorgeous stompin' hottie on top of it...I guess she's got your head spinning like many others b4 ya

@ shawnodese:

I have been bumping into her for the last 4 years in festivals around the world and specially in europe!

She is a real dance floor stomper with an excellent vibe...

Anyways...

Maybe one day, i will get to meet up with her!

Line up question...Who were the 2 artists that played after Liquid Soul on the first night of the Main-Stage... I heard that it was Deeper in Zen but surely not..! All in all i had a great festival, even if the music/lineup was completely messed up.
BTW, the sound was Crystal Clear, even judging by my old ears.
Thanks to everyone who made our family welcome at this Eclipse Festival           To Fathom Hell or Soar Angelic,

I hear there was a giant finnish flag up everytime a finnish act played, any truth to this? And how was Texas Faggot??           "The dinosaurs became extinct because they didn't have a space program."

There was a huge finish Flag on the main stage...
but it stayed there for a while: maybe a day or two!
you can see it in the background of this picture:

I had a great time at this festival, tho much more for the social energy. Prices were steep and chaos ensued after the 'Act of god' during the opening ceremony (as the turks were saying). I like my music trippy and more underground sounding and in the end I only enjoyed around 12hrs of good music in 7 days, the main problem at the moment seems to be that 85% of the big name live PA's seem to be playing either jean michelle jarre style eurotrance club music or strangely enough their own cover of blue monday by new order, this same melodic progression was counted by myself more than 25 times, played by around 20 different live pa's and djs. What the hell is happening to our scene? As a musician I find it very hard to beleive that the level of unoriginality in these mass produced formulas has actually progressed to the point where they are all producing the same track!!?? I think that it deserves a new name as it really isnt trippy in the slightest and I see that it is currently trying to milk every last penny out of the word 'psychedelic'. I understand that without big names a festival can not expect to have so many people attend as would be hard to pull big crowds with little known acts, but I guess it just unfortunatley reflects the direction that alot of producers in our scene seem to be heading, retro club music for fame and fortune, after all its far easier to go backwards for influences than trying to push forward with the evolution of the technology. I remember when I started listening to psychedelic trance I realised that this is key to this style of music and sadly that seems to have been lost sight of by many producers in our scene who were at one point or another flying the flag of real psychedelic sound. The solar eclipse was one of the most cosmic events of my life and even though chaos ensued I hold maximum respect for the organisers and sound crew for pulling things back together after the nightmare of the opening ceremony. See you at the reunion in brighton on friday!

i agree and want to highlight this.
i felt that much of the innovative new music was pushed into the beginning of the festival and just sort of ignored by the sheeplike circular logic of "big artists are good which is why they are big which is why they are good" etc...
the music after the eclipse was almost all full-on 145 bpm with basslines like an elephant ballet dancing and synths like Georgio Moroder...kinda silly to me...

anyway this is usual on festivals these days-

i heard very little minimal progressive and very little actual psychedelic trance.

i really really enjoyed Ticon set at sunset day before eclipse i believe... what little minimal i heard brought joy to me as my heart relaxed. finally some TASTE and SUBTLETY...

and Kindzadza just sounded straight up amazing. i saw many non-fans of KDD converted into passionate devotees by his set that night. The night before I must say rocked. I played, Jellyheadz, Penta, Absolum and CPU...and im not sure who whas in there also as i ran back to the trailer to put my stuff away...

i think the best music overall was the chillout. they also had the least sound. (give them more bass!)
Hideyo, Peaking Goddess Collective, and Shakatura stand out for me...
in the future i would like to see only ONE dancefloor and one chill out system- if there must be two dancefloors then please divide the crowd over some major thing like breaks and trance vs just trance and trance...

the sound on the soulclipse was fantastic.
it was really clear and loud.
i was so happy to hear it in stereo!!!!
without the annoying delays associated with 4 speaker stacks...
the line arrays on the the main stage really projected to the back of the dancefloor and the subbass ruffled my pant legs nicely...
not that i wore pants often... most of the time i was in short and really enjoying the warm south Turkish springtime...
a relief from European winter...

i saw many many amazing people.
i would have liked to organize some group camp with friends from all over the world, but this proved impossible...
perhaps burning-man style group camp placement with coordinates is a good way?

the prices were high for food, there were only a few choices, and this must be related somehow... the Gozleme stand was a total hit for me. Local Turkish Crepe kind of thing...
3 lira...

the toilets should have been portapotties for this amount of people given the land and the water drainage issues...

some people- ahem- have no sense. they throw their garbage on the ground and their toiletpaper into the bushes and trees.
i really hope our family evolves.
"party party" is no excuse for bad behaviour.

the land itself was amazing and i will never forget the region.

overall- i am very very glad i was part of this and am very happy to have been there and really enjoyed myself during this time.

thank you indigo kids and respect for taking on a massive job. i make my criticisms only to improve the situation. i am on your team. I hope we evolve as a family.

...couldn't agree more..same is happening at other big festivals... thats why i rather go to small quality ones or to a rock concert.
...
80% of today's so called "psy-trance" could be called Britney Psyears . It's nothing but a money orientated-commercial Pop music supported by a Cattle-complex infected fans .
everybody wants just to make a quick money.
truelly a pitty.

..thnx god for the underground ^_^

first off i'd like to say i had a blast, and that this festival had a bigger impact on me than even samothraki which was a much bigger festival. just being there for a whole week made it really really hard to come back. for a whole day my head still went back and forth with unheard bass-lines

let's look at the different things:
arrival:
only one bus every hour or so took us to the festival which made us all remember the first days of army duty when you try to get on the bus on sundays this, accompanied by the truck transportation afterwards made for a shaky start.

finding accomodations:
on arrival we started scouting the place and found a very nice place in the woods overlooking the market. this was a lot of fun as you could see some turkish people making some money flattening the ground for rich europeans plus we took our friends from the plains just before the rain and saved them from drowning.

the rain:
well, just now, we found out that our tents aren't waterproof. good luck i brought my umbrella with me. this was quite useful for my friend who took it one night dancing and had 5 girls squeeze around him for the cover

the music:
everything you wanted, you could find. but some times only if you were mad enough (which we are) to go out in the rain. but man you wouldn't believe how fun it is to dig like crazy in the mud with all the other mad people till you tried it

the lineup:
ummmm, well, let's just say that i know only 3 artists which i saw for sure all the rest are pure speculation (very big no no producers). most of us came to see some very good artists. most of us never got to see them

the place:
Amazing!!!!!! beautiful place which really showed its nice side during the sunny days after the eclipse. beautiful river, nice beach (with nice, um, topless view ) , very nice deco on the stages and a great view of a multitude of colorful tents and crazy people.

the people:
crazy, whacked people who all seem to have some connection to israel since so many came with disguises so near to purim. it was B E A utiful!!! the vibe was excellent, people doing whatever they felt like, dressing in whatever way they liked, smiling all around and of course digging like crazy. oh, and did i mention so many japanese people? man, i love japanese people (already made reservations for the eclipse in japan for 2009).

the food:
well, nice diversity, 5 euro price for almost anything. and some nice weird things like: "TakoYaki pancake yapani"

the drugs:
on our arrival a friend of mine went to the middle of the market and started shouting "who sells drugs, who sells drugs?" and what do you know, a friendly neighbourhood drugdealer came to the rescue and then there were many days and nights of chillum fun and some other stuff too if you're into it.

the market prices:
well, better leave that to people who have money.

the vibe:
well, with all my bitching and moaning there's one thing which made this trip totally worth it and that is the amazing vibe and freedom you could feel in the air. even the turkish soldiers/policemen/rangers whatever they were couldn't keep away from it and in the last day i even saw them dancing in the main stage i hope to feel this free again very soon.

To all you smiling crazy people out there i just want to say thank you for an unforgettable journey           Super-teen extraordinaire Freakazoid! Freakazoid!

I have not got the right words for this, and maybe better not to say much. It was just amazing right from the start with the muddy night on the dancefloor all the way to shulman in the chillout.

I found out I don't give a fuck what music is playing when the vibe is so good!!!!

Thank you to the organisers, the artists and djs and especially the people who came the earth the moon and the sun!
