Right on Profane...What a festival! An amazing and decadent adventure with wonderful international freaks. Bathing in the river, sipping Chai, painting, relaxin at the fire, getting trashed, being silly....simply great! My personal highlights on the dancefloor was like many on the day of the eclipse where I stomped my feet to Ticon, XDream (Ariel is so hot!) and Hallucinogen... Met some good spirited Brazilians and despite the language barrier enjoyed the magical moments.

Other acts definately worth mentioning were Menog and some Finnish artist which I dont know the name of at around 7 in the morning... People were drenched in rain and mud frantically expressing their dancin passion... had such an animal/barbaric-like ambience! The following days Phony Orphants (hearing Sex,Drugs gave me chills), DJ Emok, Andromeda and Son Kite also sparked groovyness!

I wish I didnt have to come with negative comments BUT in terms of the organization I was dissapointed! I had bought a ticket off a friend in advance, seeing that this was possible on the soulclipse website as well as having written an email in which I received no reply. I waited 4˝ hours to speak to the responsible "man in charge" simply to get a blunt negative answer...280 euros for a ticket, thats ridiculous... Why so profit indulging? especially at a festival which seems to promote liberalism, free spirit and a way to take a breath from our Western consumer society and to enjoy our beautiful nature...

Nonetheless I very much enjoyed the festival... Thanks to those who made it pleasurable )

I had a great time at this festival, tho much more for the social energy. Prices were steep and chaos ensued after the 'Act of god' during the opening ceremony (as the turks were saying). I like my music trippy and more underground sounding and in the end I only enjoyed around 12hrs of good music in 7 days, the main problem at the moment seems to be that 85% of the big name live PA's seem to be playing either jean michelle jarre style eurotrance club music or strangely enough their own cover of blue monday by new order, this same melodic progression was counted by myself more than 25 times, played by around 20 different live pa's and djs. What the hell is happening to our scene? As a musician I find it very hard to beleive that the level of unoriginality in these mass produced formulas has actually progressed to the point where they are all producing the same track!!?? I think that it deserves a new name as it really isnt trippy in the slightest and I see that it is currently trying to milk every last penny out of the word 'psychedelic'. I understand that without big names a festival can not expect to have so many people attend as would be hard to pull big crowds with little known acts, but I guess it just unfortunatley reflects the direction that alot of producers in our scene seem to be heading, retro club music for fame and fortune, after all its far easier to go backwards for influences than trying to push forward with the evolution of the technology. I remember when I started listening to psychedelic trance I realised that this is key to this style of music and sadly that seems to have been lost sight of by many producers in our scene who were at one point or another flying the flag of real psychedelic sound. The solar eclipse was one of the most cosmic events of my life and even though chaos ensued I hold maximum respect for the organisers and sound crew for pulling things back together after the nightmare of the opening ceremony. See you at the reunion in brighton on friday!
