Well all said already, great festival, cant say much new, had such a good days of my life there. Great production Indigokids, keep it this way.

Two thing that i didn't like:
1) why ALL the finish artists were put at night? what a terrible thing to do....
2) Disgusting usage of dancefloor for advertising his music of mister LANI, i wanted to puke when i heard him there, no matter how good his music could be it was so disgusting thing to do for tripping people on the dancefloor, never would have bought his music after that, even if it was the best i ever heard.
Cheers

Great to hear that Stas Boy
anyway, I believe everything would have worked just fine if it wasnt of the heavy rain, but nature has its way, and no man can stop its forces.
I can imagine the Chaos Indigo Kids had to go through during the fesival time.
i think they finally did manage to put things in order and just satisfy everyone. all the artists did show up

But rumours say that artists were not treated as agreed, not sure what it means, but i did hear it from many of them who played there.

Thnx for everything Indigo           baddeh ekol knefeh!

rumors say that trance artists have turn into a bunch of spoiled winers who keep complaining cause they didn't get their 5 star hotel and limozine and have non-stop ego fights on which of them is better and should play more.

but maybe it's just a rumor

probably in some cases.
but indigo kids booked about 200 acts in total. it was easy to get lost in the shuffle
i know of a few artists who somehow were not fed for the week (meal ticket mixups) and at least one of them had no euros at all and i saw trying to eat a wedge of airplane cheese with a moldy cracker.

you might change your taste in music if you think all artists are whiners. maybe something less commercial?

im sure X-Dream, Simon Posford, Eskimo and Astrix were paid but most artists were provided transport, a free soulclipse ticket and a +1

it was an ambitious line-up designed to "unite the scene" and there really were a lot of artists. I saw all of the artists that i knew from the list playing on the festival. everyone was there. the lineup in the guide book was not accurate and you should have been looking at the updated lists posted at each stage and in the market at the info booth.
i will say this- i encountered a lot of music I would never intentionally encounter. I have learned things from it. There have been moments of novel pleasure. Its good to check out new and different things.

and people-
do you mind to shut-up about THE DRUGS already.
in case you didnt realize, its this kind of idiocy that embarrasses our hosts (turkey) and make pressure for them to "crack down" on the lawbreakers.
yes there was money spent and the whole things is just ok... it was not midnight express...
however i really dont think this needs to be smeared all over the internet like some people are doing...

thanks:)

Could not agree more. It is not about drugs. It is about the music.´

Whiners or not. Indigokids signed a contract. Many artists played for free so there should be a minimum of comfort for them. Do not forget that they came to entertain you.

Well i know some artists were left without nothing to eat or nobody to pick em up from the airport,or the indigo kids paid 2 days hotel and asked the artists to pay for any extra day they stay there.
These are some good reasons for artists to complain specially when they know these inCREEDable prices at the entrance should provide them the basic things an artist should have from the GREEDY promoters.

i dont think it was greed.
i think there was an incredible load of work.
there are always problems.
don't forget the incredible taxes and duties paid to bring even a simple backdrop into turkey.
the authorities certainly got their bite.
this is what it costs to do something in turkey.

the collapse of the mainstage resulted in at least 30,000 euros of damage to artists equipment alone that indigo kids had to pay out of pocket.... for example... while the sound and lighting company is certainly being sued for fucking up, it will take time to get the money...
i think its tempting to get into some kind of BLAME game... but the problems were not intentional, i feel, and the organizers had a very legitimate fear of losing all their money and as such tried to control things.
Communication issues can be blamed for much of the problems. Overall this festival WENT OFF!

i think this festival cost EVERYONE a lot-
from organizers, to artists, to attendees.
people had to really WANT to be there to make it happen...

it was worth it for me. I would have like to play later in the party and promote what I feel is EXCELLENT music i'm making, but all in all, there was an incredible amount of things to keep track of and I am highly aware I was just a tiny peice in the greater picture.

overall I wish to say Thank You to Indigo Kids-

hi man!
just a small correction here... we (The Peaking Goddess Collective) were on the stage with all our gear when it collapsed... 8,000 euros worth of gear got waterlogged and/or damaged... we never saw a penny or got a proper apology... we spent most of the festival being sent back & forth between the organizers & the sound company - neither one accepting responsability.

on the last day we finally met with the sound guys & hilla at the same time... they convinced us that they could fix our gear on the spot (which was fine by us). one hour before the pgcs chill set i returned to pick up the gear only to find it sitting unguarded in a corner (obviously not repaired).

in my opinion it is the organizers (who signed our contract) responsability to look after the artists. we should not have been forced to run after them all through the festival (with no result....).

i am thankful that it is only equipment that got damaged.

i have ZERO respect for the indigo kids... yes, it was chaos & mayhem - but if it would have went well they would have happily accepted all the profits. i find it unacceptable that they washed their hands of all the problems that were created by their lack of foresight & the stage collapsing.

i am also a bit shocked at the general response on the net from artists & partygoers. yes, it was an amazing party in spite of all the problems - but i don't think it was due to the indigo kids. any gathering in honour of one of mother natures most splendiferous spectacles - would be a blast no matter what the circumstances.

but if i read the reports - i wonder if we were all at the same festival. or maybe this is where the politics of future bookings come into play?

love & light,
ajja & gaspard (yab-yum/pgc)

@ Ajja
You are totally right about all this...
Indigo kids must take responsability in something: Stage collapse was due to nature... But problems with artists, problems with organisations! Come on! there is a minimum someone can do!!!

I live in a country very similar to Turkey by the mentality and the way things work! and i did contribute to the organisation of events (nothing musical)..
And i can assure that busses, cabs, and cars are more than available during off season...and that there is no excuse not to pick up an artist from the airport...
There is no excuse to let the artists pay their own food... and there is no excuse to let the artists pay for their own hotels rooms!
There is no excuse to cut the water the last day of the festival...
There is no excuse not to insure acceptable toilets and sewage system!

I attended Soulclipse and i was being part of the crowd and i did get to see all these technical/organisational problems...
Starting with the Line Up changing every now and then, something fishy was going on!

As you said, The people, The Eclipse and Nature made this festival a very good one!
Indigo Kids helped in getting the permission from the Turkish official as well as the artists...
But there way of doing things was not that good...
It was reflected on the festival! in small things throuout the festival!!!

Anyways, I say thank you to Indigo kids for letting the festival happens and i give my respect to Nature and to the International Crowd to create such a spiritual place....And most of all, all the artists who went into bad time to bring us their music and to put the final touch to this event: THANK YOU!!!

Indigo Kids, your name has been engraved into the Psy world...and i dont think you will be able to go backwards and make it better!!!

i stand corrected. i did not hear your story prior to this forum despite speaking with you in person Ajja.
I did speak with some volunteers which is where i got the figure from and the response i stated.
do you know if any of the other artists were compensated?

i won't take insult at the various statements directed at me due to the obvious stress you must have suffered being treated poorly.

i have noted the flaws i saw
1)toilets, drainage
2)communication- between door and offices, contract issues, meal tickets and payment/compensation issues...
3)musical lineup and the new music ghetto at the beginning with only commercial after the eclipse...
4)high prices inside the festival and of course the ticket...

which seemed largely the result of poor organization and perhaps stinginess/fear rather than malignant intentions. i've seen far worse...

I don't suggest that Indigo Kids is not responsible for damaged gear etc... I thought this was sorted out

i generally try to be as fair as i can given the information i am operating with.

if you really honestly look at what they were trying to do, it may be a fucking mess but they brought nearly every trance act in existence... (something like 200 acts?)

ok i drew the line at some guy selling 6 euro a glass orange juice on the last day- when all the local juicepeople were gone...
and the guy on the dancefloor that wanted 250 Euros a T... whatever...

to be honest my wallet prefers parties where i am the sole booked act where i actually get paid instead of spending 1000 CHF just to eat smoke and generally get around for two weeks...
@hellios
i did this one for fun and promotion.
stop calling me a boot licker or i'll boot your liquor. and who are you anyway hellios?
