mmmmm…. How to start this?
Best by saying that Wednesday was one of the best days in my life

Got back yesterday- had an amazing experience beyond description by words really, but I'll try give you some highlights before the photos & movie arrive to do the job better.

Arrived in the afternoon right in time for the big rain & hail storm- everything was muddy and wet, main stage lost, but there was no feeling of despair and I could feel everywhere that this is gonna be something great as far as anyone there is concerned. And that what's happened.

Personal highlights chronologically:

1. Getting to the dancefloor first time after the big rain and after wading in the mud all across the festival and seeing thousands of people dance and splash in the mud like nuts- nobody caring about anything anymore- no dry bed to go to- so better go wild- mud was flying everywhere- amazing!

2. Getting to the chillout in the morning and seeing the river flow near the stage for the first time. And then my set that started 3 hours late (couldn't find the sound & generator ppl- probably were sleeping after a hard wet night). I enjoyed my set, more the first hour and a half- then they cut me to 2 hours because of the late start. Thank to all the ppl listening and dancing and for all the good words.

3. Being surrounded by good people with good vibes from all around the world- everyone happy and sharing and helping and very colorful- makes you feel like normal existence for humans is possible and gives you tons of energy- huge thanks good people!

4. The organizers and crew- having a great vision and executing it in a country that is difficult to work in for the first time, coping with nature's surprises, and all the time with a smile and full effort and good vibe. Especially enjoyed Hila- the mother of the festival- always giving good energy and softening everyone and making things HAPPEN. Also Matteo- always there to help, with a smile and tons of patience and good mood. And Avital- thank for the dry socks, man!
Big thanks and love to you all- you made so many people so happy- we remember!

5. Total Eclipse I (the trance act)- Loic played a set that was a mix of emotional old and tribal dark optimistic new. First some of the ppl on the dancefloor had problems digesting the old stuff- but more and more veterans came and probably felt like me. How did I feel? Well, I'll just say that it's been 10 years since I cried from happiness in a party (MWNN in Nitzanim)- so you can get it. Slowly everyone was following the veterans and the dancefloor became happy madness and the best thing was watching the 4 Turkish security people who just stood there in the beginning of Astrix' set, already dancing madly with everyone- they sure had one of the best first party experiences ever. Their boss sure had a weird face when he came to check them after the eclipse and saw them dancing… hehe…
Special thanks for Loic for the Anne Clark remix- those who remembered the original were totally blown far out and away.

6. Hallucinogen- What can you say- Simon was the head of the tribe in this one- his set was amazing and everyone on the dancefloor was going nuts and smiling non stop, while he was sending his hallucinogenic vibes down on us and making weird faces on stage. Suddenly someone started shouting and everyone looks up through their soulclipse glasses and see the sun being bitten by the moon. We kept dancing and having news flashes of how the sun was doing. Shouts were erupting all around every now and then. It was getting cooler and cool breeze was blowing all around. Then Simon stopped just when not much was left from the sun.

7. Total Eclipse II (the natural phenomena)- suddenly looking through the glasses- it was all dark- I took of the glasses and saw the black moon surrounded by the sun's corona flames- the landscape all around looked as if drawn by watercolors, Venus was burning bright in the sky, and thousands of colorful people were shouting in the dancfloor and the hills around it. This is were words fail me- lets just say it was the most amazing thing I ever saw and experienced, and I've been around.

8. Random Shouting eruptions- every now and then after the eclipse you suddenly hear shouting starting somewhere and being answered from somewhere else, slowly to subside down again. One theory said it always started in the shower with the cold water

9. Hideo Black Moon- I was sitting with friends in their area in the camping ground not far from the chillout when we realize suddenly that while the beats rising from the chill are a bit chilled they're definitely very moving beats. Not long after when we heard screams we had no choice to go and check it out. We found a small forest party happening on the river bank with like 200 ppl dancing madly, all in the middle of the festival yet independent of it in a way. I joined. Excellent psychedelic night set, all sounding totally fresh and new to me. Small beautiful Japanese lady on the decks radiating power and coolness. Best psychedelic night set I heard in a long long time. Anyone can help with a track list?

That's it- I had to leave before it all ended, and even before they have re-opened the big stage again. I'm sure it still a blast there. I'm still wearing my wrist band till Sunday and try to spread all this new energy I got all around me :-D

For all those who didn't come- we missed you!
See you all in Japan in 2009!

Hey Shahar,It was great to meet you man.Great review.I allso had good experience in the Soulclipse Festival. The main stage collapse at the beginig of the Festival ( I gess it's all a matter of karama ).Lucky no one got injured. And still the good vibes and the good spirit was in full power from all the ppl in ther.I realy had good time and the Solar Eclipse was for sure an amazing sight.Hallucinogen start is live set before the Solar Eclipse and when the Solar Eclipse start is set was in is end and in the highlight of the Solar Eclipse he finish is live set and all the ppl in the dance floor just stand and watch the Solar Eclipse. This was the highlight at the Festival for me.Thx Hila,Yogi,Mateo,Tamir and all the Soulclipse crew for this experience. And see you all next time.

thank you for the review shahar, your words transported me there instantly.

I saw a video of the eclipe taken at the festival. The mix of the visual and the crowd screaming gave me some hardcore goosebumps Will make sure I make enough money to fly myself to Japan in 09

I had a great birthday at the 29-th when the eclipse occurred... The most amazing experience of my life.

Shortly:
Awesome and humongous location, best artists who kicked ass non stop 24\7, the biggest grouping of the best people ever, and great organization.
I take my pink hat off in front of the indigo kids and thank them for this indescribable experience.
