Tom, you DA man

You said it best.. this album is not like all the others.. it acctually progresses in a smart way.. Soft, slow begining, pure, linear middle, and hard morningish trance for the finale..           "VA - REWIRED" OUT NOW !! 1. Other side
This track start off with a buitifull intro with a percussion groove that slowly fades in. When the kick arrives you fell totally the groove. YOu can feel in the music that this is the begining of the journy.

2. Focus
It starts up with a more deeper groove. Realy great bass-groove. The beats is building up prefectly, adding adding, small steps. Excellent break at 6:00 and after pure bliss.

3. On air
Oh yeah ! again, As i write before "This is really really superb stuff. Fresh sounding and new thinking as u can expect from Son Kite. " This track is growing more and more. And the break stills amaze me.

4. Games and Watch
Here we have a little different track from the rest on the album. More full on groove. Great melodies. I need to here this in a big big system. Maybe in some weeks when u come up here in Gothenburg : ).

5. Let us be
Here i feel a little vibes from perspective off album in the beggining of the track. After some minutes of pumping groove, small harmonic melodies is building up with a distorted female vocalist, le bon bon superbe : )

6. The stars within us
Starts of with nice a guitar thing here thats evolve into to the groove. What is the voice saying at 4:09 ? can some one help me After the little break here all is kicking in again. Can only imagine what happens in a live sett

7. Jukebox
This is my favorite right now. its so much groovein this tune. Cant sitt still when im listening. With a superb groove build up and some small vocal samples that gomes with the beat. I dont now if this is i meant but it feels like the first vocal sample start like some milliseconds of the kick and it makes it all more groovy. I get some early underworld vibes somehow here also. This track is just grooving as long u come in to the track.
Andi realy like the pitching down at the end when it crossfades in to the next track.
My favorite right now amasing track.

8. Made to move
Heavy pumping with great percussion work here. Tribal groove experience Great great.

9. Colours
Perfect track for ending the album, its like for me a mix of all the trax togheter with small elements and feeling from the other 8 tracks The music ends up with same sound that the hole journy starts with, lovely.

I give this album 10/10 for sure. This is totally fresh and this one is a really big masterpiece. sound quality and mastering top quality as always from son kite and hihatstudio. The package superb.
This album will last for a long long time. I still discover new things in it all the time : )

Superb good work Seb & Marcus.
Now im waiting for the next colour again. And i can promise what after i heard on the intervju with son-kite on the swedish international radio the DVD will be amasing.

Respect !!!!

          /Magnus

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I thought that this album was much less minimalistic than the Son Kite we were used to in the past.

son kite we were used to was imo way too minimalistic

At the risk of beind unpopular I really didnt like this one at all. While the album looks great and the music is without doubt of an impressive production level, it strikes me that the medium of psychedelic trance is here being diluted to suit a wider market. The tracks do not for me contain much depth. I do not believe that it is some way wrong for producers to want to sell more records, these people need to eat, what I do object to is the basic principles of this music form being adapted to make it more 'acceptable' to more people. Psychedelic trance rocks but just make sure we don't forget the psychedelic part, please!

This album is just fantastic! Perfect and refreshing new genre of Progressive Psytrance. Elektro Prog Psytrance like the Ticon track: "some simple sounds" but way more klashy and deep! The whole album is a jewel with non stop mood stomper. Track 1,2,3,6,7 are the Elektro Proggy and are succulent for the ear. Track 4 is a full on kinda track which really show a style Son Kite should explore on another level and, i hope, soon make a project out of it. As for track 5,8 & 9 they really didn't catch my attention, altough excellent track there are not uplifting or charming as the others. I give this album a big 7 out of 9 which is better then any release this year! Get your copy NOW!           http://www.spannungsbogen.com

Finally got my copy of this CD (thanks dude ). After reading all the superlatives in the reviews here, and locking a thread that already called this ‘the best album of this year’ (we’re not even half way through the year ppl), I felt my hands shake when I inserted the CD into my system for the first time. I was expecting something that will blow my mind away and will change my whole perspective of life and trance music. I was expecting a complete journey into music, an almost naive and childlike sense of joy in play (taken from your reviews ) but didn’t get it.

I listened to it a few times and frankly, not my cup of tea. BPM rate too high for me in most cases; not too original as I hear it; not too exciting.

Full credit for production and PR for sure. I loved the quadruple CD concept and design. The production and quality of the CD are great, just the content didn’t do it for me.

I won’t sell my copy of this CD or throw it away, but it will not enter my most wanted list.

Zombi: when are you getting your Kooler CD??? (I know, hasn't been released yet, right?)

I just got this album today in the mail. "Colours"is a very beautiful album! I have been waiting for an album like this for a very long time. The flow is great with the tracks seamlessly mixing into one another. The production is absolutely incredible. The packaging is stunning. I feel very inspired now! Thank you very much! I have been waiting for a perfect production like this for a very long time.           -xo Truffle Radio ox-

Ok, this is an album that definately grows on you. At first listen, I didn't think it was all that super after all. I nearly wrote a review here about it, but I thought: well, at least hold on until you listen to it some more. And I did. The second time I listened the whole album again, I began to hear and feel some different things in each track. Now I have a lot of tracks on this that I really like... So, congratulations on another top album Seb and Marcus!! I think I'll check out the Kooler album also, what I've heard of it so far sounded pretty good... Also, I'm looking forward to hear some more tracks like Massive, the one you did on the Digital Emission compilation. That one still rocks my socks off!!           "Subconscious unravels at the point of death, and all time it has known erupts into a moment. As death extinguishes us, so we become it."

Krusty I totally respect your views but IMO, if a cd appeals to a wider audience, it does not mean that son kite did this to make more money. take the shpongle example. Do you think that only one type of crowd likes their music. no. they appeal to mass audiences. many people still critisize them with their 2nd album but I doubt many can doubt the musical quality and accuse them of trying to make more money with putting out stuff thats more "acceptable".
this cd may not contain the degree of psychedelic touch that some people expected, but you must respect their decision. This is the music they want to make and I dont believe their decision is anyhow to do with $$$. They make many different styles as we can see in their side proejcts. Just try to listen to the cd as what it is and dont close yourself up. In the end, I see a release thats progressed from their earlier releases. They are one of the few who explore different paths of trance and I think this is what we need, instead of the same sounding releases, year after year.
