Metal and rock are constantly mixed. In fact some of the most popular junk out there is a complete fusion between the two. There's no reason electronic dance parties and music can't be as well.
What WILL happen...?
If I'm not mistaken there are producers lingering/talking. Why not MAKE it happen if it's what you're looking for? |

Metal is mixed with Rock???????? Metal IS Rock....On steroyds but still coming from Rock!!! Though you cannot find much of any in each other.....
The question here is a more "cultural clash" one, IMHO. Despite, in the past, the (very, very) occasional appearance of Tecnho/House/Electro in psy-trance parties/gatherings...this culture in terms of music in parties feed itself on psy-trance (all styles)and chill-out and maybe some ethnical world music. And, to my understanding, the music became one more symbol of the culture...which adopted literature, art, philosophy, spiritual approach to live, etc....to create its own concept of scene/culture.
Someone (sorry for not remembering who) here in the Forum once wrote that Tecnho/House are genres of dance-music but psy-trance is not....though the statement did sound a bit pompous i kinda understood it as the result of Tecnho/House or Electro are much more naked of a specific culutre.
I dont like to close doors to anything and mixing, accepting, understanding are key factors to a "successful", surviving culture/scene, moreover some artists are crossing over genres while others are completely gone to other "shores" but.....i would not like to see, as rule, the merge of the genres of music. And to my opinion stuff like Hard-Tecnho, Electro club thing or The "voiced" ibiza House-music are so far away from it that i cannot see it , or actually appreciate it to be integrated in the scene...but its only my opinion!!!!

yes, they clearly dont envolve people dancing to 4/4 electronic music, its completely diferent, first of all, I never saw someone with rastas smoking a chillum, in a techno party, and that's basically it...i guess
I really appreciate your ability to contradict yourself in a single sentence:

just my thoughts on darkpsy.. which is psycheelic trance on speed, exactly the same, but kids seem to enjoy it, i dont see any relation with psychedelic trance, no culture whatsoever, no PLUR, no save the planet with dancing, no tribal bla, bla, ... its just there, music and people dancing to it.. take it or leave it |

i do not agree with some (mainly not having any conection with psychedelic trance), but you hitted the fly when you said: "...no plur, no save the planet with dancing, no tribal bla, bla..." - well it is not like 100%, at least i do not act like this, but yes, a major quantity of people who listen to this style act like you are saying - at least it is what i see - don´t know why it is like this, but it is a fact.

Regarding Dark-psy which i dont particularly like...there is only one small mistake in your thoughts - it belongs for it is the result of an evolution movement. The relation you are looking with the culture is that it actually is one of the elements of the culture....like it or not it came from the same cultural enviroment!!!!! This is a fact....but dont worry, with so many artists crossing-over soon it will all make sense or if not we will witness a major separation - sad!!!!
But still i want to ask you something....do you really feel that House-Music and Electro (Club style) fits here? The same vibe, the same concept?

I dont know many artists who came from psychedelic trance into darkpsy, but and we've been through this before, the same with techno influenced artists:
Son kite / Minilogue
Midimilliz / Extrawelt
Antix/Fiord
Psy sex / Ace Ventura/ Schatsi
Just to name a few. Some of these projects are closer to stuff like, Holden, Nathan Fake, Format b, hawtin ... and if you'll ever have the chance to see a Holden set, ( i really recomend you to) you'll find it miles away from the commercial house, classic ibiza style stereotype. As a matter of fact, i find it hugely psychedelic imo.
its all JUST electronic music , the culture is the same, faster or slower as long as its good, i'm ok with it. |

ok here we go again......me and ellon supporting the psy culture....the others drifting away from it....bye bye...
a few observations:
-i have never seen a techno party people took more psychedelics than psy.....ie the speed and other nasty rugs (ketamine, pills etc) are more present in the techno scene...
-i have never seen a techno party where people care about all the things you listed....no save the planet etc....some psy parties still do......compare the "green" activities of boom with any mainstream techno festival...notice a difference...???
-spasm if you cant understand one music....dark psy (its not called dark as, in it there are plentiful styles....most are not dark!!) dont comment on it.....it shows ignorance....you said it yourself...you only go to techno electro and some progressive parties.....let us be....or come to one and see the relationship with the psychedelic culture....!
-culture the same....? eh? i dont see any similarities...again you said it yourself....never saw a rasta smoking one chillum at a techno party....agreed!
- ive been many times to hear hawtin and holden back in london and all i could see on the dancefloor was: lots of nice pussies dressed like models, pill heads jawing away, and fashion victims i.e. really nothing to do with psychedelia.....
-hello...is it a coincidence that techno parties are mostly done indoors?....no its because its an industrial kind of music....no nature related....!!!
psytrance is techno with a drop of acid????......well i can never thank mr hoffmann enough for that......boom albert!!!
the only relation i see is some people moving from psy to techno and prob some moving from techno to psy......
btw spasm the shirt..... you can buy it at " i love techno party" where they play the tune of marco bailey "i love techno" and they all love techno.....
