Well money talks louder....and if it starts there is no stoping!!!!! 95% of promotores couldnt care less about it....

I myself thrive for diversity....the global sense comes from accepting all cultural phenomenas not merging all realities - you can see whats happening in the world of the merging globalization : dialects disappear, "old" knowledge gone, identity`s dissapearing....just to name a few!!!!

Identity is a positive thing when you take the ego (that causes insecurity and agressive postures) and learn to accept/understand the diversity. This diversity is the key to survive/evolve, its like watching the "same thing" on different shapes, sounds, concepts....

Ellon I think you don't really have a good grasp on what's going. A lot of the things that you say is the same popular statements that a lot of people say. Maybe that is the case with you, but me myself as a promoter and the friends that I have that have their own collectives that promote events and parties do not fit in the same mold of promoters that you talk about.

Plus you seem to have a bias against Progressive and techno, this is just what i have observed in some of your comments, but you say you are all for diversity. I don't know, it seems to be some what contradictory.

Man did you really got what you just quoted from me?????!!!!! Unbelieveble....

I have no bias on whatever...nor am i missing whats going on. I actually notice that everytime this discussion arises in the forum the "open minded" sector is the first to gain this "i know" posture....

Again i say, from my side, im not talking about cross-over artists!!!!! Moreover Magox dont be offended by my words as i know a lot of people are in it for the love but the great majoraty are not (promoting concerts/shows since 1996).....and though its very cool to have this "open minded" posture on every subject, sometimes pays to stop and think what is at stake....

And although we are very off-topic, you will allow me to recommend you the "study" the meaning of the word diversity.....

I get the feeling that what i wrote in this thread is not being properly read....

And what is that? Do you really want to go back to what once was? There is no way to do that. Everything changes, like it or not, the best and most intelligent way to deal with change, is to adapt yourself to the world around you, just like Bruce Lee once said "be water my friend"

Open mindness is the ability to take what’s coming in your direction, its not following a trend, is accepting change, and welcome it gladly, or you'll eventually become a hostage in a time zone that IS no more.
That’s a choice you have to make, and its your decision. I know a lot of people that still want to hear 80's music when they go out at night for a drink, I don’t blame them, it’s their own personal choice.
I have got nothing against you personally, in fact i like these chats once in a while, but what nags me about you and NIK is that you want ME out of the scene, because of the music i enjoy, and in your mind you think that it doesn’t fit your personal interpretation of psychedelic, so because of that, you don’t want it mixed with your party stereotype.
This is exactly what i read from your posts. If not, i advise you to express yourself better, because that's what it sounds like.

That does not make any difference. Just because they once used to do progressive or psy?
What's the big difference when your in front of speakers enjoying the music? Is it because it gives you some kind of comfort to know that: "yeah this are the dudes from Son Kite, i know this .. good shit" ..Who cares what they used to do, makes no difference whatsoever if they came from psy, or from the comfort of their own bedrooms, and never attend psy party in their whole life, and don’t even know what it is, at least to me it doesn't, as long as its good music, simple as that.

@Spasm

I advise you Spasm to go back and read it again so you can understand it....the better expression you are looking for is all there!!!! I want to point out that your arguments in this discussion are based on "over" interpreation and abusive use of the quotations.....

Moreover, i dont know about NIK, but i dont wish YOU out of the scene nor am i in possesion of any truth that allows me to judge whatsoever.

I will tell you strait away, in a simple understandable way, what can be at stake.....and than we can leave behind the Bruce Lee quotes on life as open mindness, unfortunatly, has wide shoulders!!!!

"I myself thrive for diversity....the global sense comes from accepting all cultural phenomenas not merging all realities - you can see whats happening in the world of the merging globalization : dialects disappear, "old" knowledge gone, identity`s dissapearing....just to name a few!!!!

You believe that merging is the way of the future...i believe that diversity is the key.
WE ARE ONE big variety of the same source, expressing this source in infinite ways.

Who`s not accepting here? The "union" that you preach about is based on the wrong parameters....the lack of love by one of the parts. So many people here producing diferent styles of music (going outside of psy), i never saw any problem/conflict.... while you and others have this "psy is dead" attitude that originates clashes!!!!

To make it more clear.....man, go read my posts and you will see that i only talk in absolute ways - ex: "all the parties" or "all psy-trance" - so no point in pulling the "intolarance" card!!!!!

Finishing in an exagerated/barroque tone:

"...Man`s biggest atrocities were committed in the name of God, in the name of Man and in the name of Progress....."

i still fail to see how can techno be more psychedelic than psytrance anyways if you are happy.....and reach that trance state of deep psychedelic experiences....i am happy for you.....

lets stick to the relationship between them not at choosing what is better.....or more psy....in each other opinion.....

i accept your music....like the psychedelic community does..... i just dont want festivals like the one i showed you, for psy parties...agreed?

you will appreciate that http://www.technoforum.org exists, and is full of people that think the same way you do....!!!

well you start saying that you respect the music that I like and I respect it too but then you continue to speak like a typical narrow minded psy trancer...sorry but I can't agree with you.And since you speak for boom I think that you know that this year will host and a techno/electronic stage...I am sure that you will listen plenty of techno in the main stage also..we live in 2008,things has changed!you just have to accept it!

tasos....
when i was saying i was happy for you...i meant it!!
if i am a narrow minded psy trancer...then i choose the right forum...!?

until i see in the festival forum, festivals like:
hungary
armageddon
poland
sweden
psycrowdelica
russia altay
shanti jatra
i do not believe that techno music will be the future of psy...or that i will have to accept it....actually i will try and exclude from my list, events (such as boom) that turn commercial and sponsor music that does not have psychedelic culture roots (it did...now not anymore).....

i see two roads that people follow:
- as ellon rightly said...some say that psy is dead...or better said not as innovative or psychedelic as before....my cheeky advice of writing in a techno forum was referred to these people....
- then there are people who still believe that psy is alive (as all of the listed festivals show) and dont want the any other influence especially of a scene like techno (please refer to the video posted) that has gotten very commercial....

this is my point of view.....

@ spasm
""The crowd, is a diferent one from tech/minimal, but the crowd from tech/minimal electro prog, is the same within the psy comunity, just not you.. and NIKTHEQUICK""......
look at my festival list....do you see any tech/minimal electro prog??? i dont..
but i would really like to have you there...i dont want to exclude you from the scene...just not want to go in 10 years from now in an expo centre, with loads of pills heads, glowsticks, etc = this is what happened to techno and i dont psy to follow the same road....

""maybe, you dont know what psychedelic means..""
to each his own......imho (even if it is not a meaning for me it is a feeling/perception/way of thinking...)
but if you want to enlight us, please do so?!

Don't worry Nikthequick and ellon, The idea of Psytrance will be around for quite a while, there is no need in defending it as if it were some sort of an endangered species. Maybe we will label it as something else in the future, but the idea of psychedelia intertwined with beats isn't going away any time soon.

As soulfood said: Psy trance IS techno.

Trance is the child of techno.

But as a child is not the same with the parents.
It is something totaly different but with a lot of elements from it's legacy.

The biggest different is that trance is more spiritual that techno which is more industrial.
Thats why trance is more psychedelic than techno.

Also trance is better to listen outdoor at a festival or at naure than thecno which is better indoor
at a club or at an abandoned storehouse or at an abandoned industry.

maybe you guys should listen to some early EBM...more influences from EBM than from techno....

like Lepton (cosmic theatre records) said on a Bunkerleute party.... "my god, it's like oldschool but with german guys singing on it" lol           Ain-Soph (Trancebum Productions / Freakdance Records)

Relationship? Why are our heads in the clouds? Techno is the generic name for all electronic music.
