like i mentioned above i have nothing against techno and it can be very refreshing for psy ears but techno hasn't evolved very much for 10 years or so but that's one of it's charms...

i dont agree.
i have been hearing more and more experimental techno. but i dont hear that much experimenting with sound in psytrance.

or maybe its just me whining
i don't know

Speaking of techtrance-the new comp Halu Beats is pretty awesome. I intend to order it soon.

talking about repetetiveness. a 4 bar loop and the girl is (poorly) adding some basic efx on it. not a very demanding crowd i reckon i wouldn't say this a very good example of innovative and fresh techno...

Man is magda in a short video, first of all its minimal its supossed to be like that. And second you must listen to the whole set. Have seen her once and she rock really good mixing.

I think Minimal sometimes gets boring if you are not to much into hipnotic stuff or if youre not at the mood. Music for Robots.

Any way there are better examples of good techno outthere.

i can't agree with this because if you state that the psy is in loop for 2-3 years then i state here that the techno is a loop for around 10 years now. the both styles has a lots of new experimental sounds in but the point is how much time you have to listen this huge amount of music coming in the market every day and how much the promotion (parties, radios, festivals etc) is working

that was my 2 cents

you are right vess,
thanks to friends who are keeping me updated with the psy stuff

but still,
that kick - bass structure of psy, it never change. maybe it cant be changed, maybe thats all psytrance is about..
but in techno they go from 4/4 to break beats sometimes, sometimes jazzy beats, sometimes this sometimes that.. lotsa hat variations etc.
very different basslines not the same didididida dididida dididida
but hey for sure 4/4 is the main structure of techno as well.

another issue is that psytrance is highly hypnotic and "psychedelic" in a way that it makes you experience some unexplainable moments in your life.space and time variations, mysticak experiences and all that.

with techno its more hypnotic rather then psychedelic. but the trick for me is that when you're hyponotized by techno you arwe able to percieve other added sounds incredibly interesting. which makes techno psychedelic as well to my mind.

psy-techno hand in hand,
all together we're in trance

So in your opinion the crowd is not "demanding" enough? What the heck does that mean? Because they seem to be enjoying a lot, and i personally think, that track pulls the roof off, and by the reaction of the crowd i might not be alone.
Maybe you dont feel the track as I do, or the crowd over there, who knows?

Man...it will be a sad day indeed when tecnho and psy merges into one style....Where´s the diversity in that?

Another thing that really amazes me, coming from the "prophets of doom", is that while psy-trance is dead gone....tecnho is fresh and new!!!!! Not.....

Jazzy beats, break beats or minimal approach? These are the new stuff everyone is refering to? Please there is nothing new about it or inovative!!!! And i really hope no one´s claming anything for Hard-tecnho...

All i see is a dual approach regarding the 2 genres...tecnho reivents itself in a loop movement and everyone (here) applaudes. Psy-trance does the same but its boring, not innovative, bla, bla, bla....Moreover the approach of the 2 genres (here) is being proposed by people who actually no longer like psy-trance!!!!! It should be something to go to a psy-trance party and psy-trance was missing from the speakers I wonder what sort of merge you want if you dont like one of the genres.....

In 2007 i listen/bought 20/30 cd/projects that were amazing, innovative, psycadelic and most of all, in all their different styles, psy-trance....oh and i forgot, well produced!!!! I didnt find the same in tecnho or electro but for one reason only....I didnt search/listen or bought enough!!!! I guess many of you did the same with psy....

TechTrance? Fine...Generalistic Events? Please.....Tecnho as the salvation of psy-trance? Please no....

I dont like Heavy Metal since i was sixteen...still i should join a metal forum and bitch about it

To finish....

Its strange to see here people with this sort of "dead gone" opinion about psy-trance and than find them in other parts of the Forum praising Dark-psy albums and their makers !!!!!?????!!!!

that almost brought tears to my eyes

Remember the wise words of yoda:

""The dark side is quicker, easier, more seductive."
"If once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny."
"If you choose the quick and easy path, you will become an agent of evil."
"A Jedi's strength flows from the force but beware of the dark side."
"Easily they flow, quick to join you in a fight. The dark side."

Indeed both of theam are about trance.

What i really miss is hard acid techno nobody loinger makes that genre, anmd its like the grandpa of psy.

Any way in both genres are excellente stuff, but the problem may be is that from the point of view of a psytrance listener psy has become cheesy in the more popular trend, while techno has become more and more abstract.

I did my share of techno in 93/94 here were i live, but it had nothing to do with this:

nothing at all

with respect, this is really stupid mnml is ok, but this is tooooo mnml... she has one loop and flanger...

revival of tech trance is coming faster than we think... but it wont sound like tech-trance from 5 years ago... it will be much different... it will connect techno, trance, minimal and progressive... and it will be unique music, burning all dancefloors around the world!!! buhahahah           VA - Momentum vol.1 - Compiled by PhaseTech
