The music we make is a reflection of our personalities.
By trying really hard to be different you will not be yourself...and obviously you will not be yourself when you try to be someone else.
IMO it's about not making an effort to sound/be a certain way as well as not trying to avoid it....just go with the flow.

It can be a big difference between using someone else's ideas in your track and copying them.

All of this was already discussed.

For example, @ this 2003 topic:
http://forum.isratrance.com/what-if-the-musics-repeat/

Correction, that topic is about playing the same track twice in a dj set or party but this one is about producing a track that sounds almost exactly the same as a track already produced before. Not exactly the same thing.

lol...

I think I can find lots of tracks on psytrance which sound more similar than this one!!

Many "lead synths" often sounds like other "lead synths", etc...!!

Im sorry but if you find these 2 tracks similar, you could also start to comparing all the shitty 150bpm dark acts that uses the exact same kickbasses and fx from track to track...

We don't see anyone bitching about that...

Btw this topic is making me think of something that John Williams once said...

well you obviously miss the point. there is a HUGE difference between using the phrase "copy and paste psy" figuratively vs literally lifting a motif straight out of a well known track, and having it released and sold at saiksounds.

honestly, its really time for psytrance to splinter into something else. there are good discussions/ideas kicked around here, good and bad music being made but ultimately "psytrance" is far too wide of a brush at this point.

well good for him to promote astrix , exacly what he miss lol

if you liked it that much there is a proper way to do it and it called remix.. and its up to the artist to decide if you can do it
(well sure you can if u have the skills but put it up for sale?? thats C&R issue allready! and karma!)

lets start by bitching at who started all this trend of copy pasting.....shitty full on...to make the music more danceable etc...

then we can continue bitching with +144bpms music....which to knowledge is no where near the similarity there is in these euro pop cheezy bullcrap....nothing to do..

then we could bitch all day and become like my mum in menopause.....or stop comparing these two genres trying to convince someone of the right way....

pavel is way enough.....but funny which makes him acceptable...
as you joined tho why not give examples....??
also do you find these tracks similar or no?

ok so lets bitch: i hate this music and hate even more who cant be bothered producing his own shit!
