What if the musics repeat?

Hi everyone! Can someone tell me what you DJs do to not play again musics that was already played by someone? For instance, let's say that you DJ is going to play at 4 am and you arrived at the party on 3 am, so you didn't saw all the sets! What will you going to do to not repeat musics?I know that is not that easy to happen, mainly if you have a lot of musics, but it can happens! |

I don´think there is any fuzz about playing the same track twice over a party. Since no DJ releases his/her playlist before the actual set takes place, there´s no way other djs will know about it beforehand. And even if they did, I doubt it´d make any difference, since what really matters, in my point of view, is the set as a whole, the story it is trying to convey to the audience. Last Friday, I´ve played a track that I knew another DJ had played several hours before my gig, I had plenty of time to replace it, but didn´t, as the track in question fitted perfectly within the sequence and mood of my own set. And ppl seemed to enjoy it as well. |

all great and all EB, but the same track played over and over and over again gets wayyyy boring...
btw, sth to watch out when making up your festival's line up > creativity.

I agree with Electronic Bungalow, what really matters is the set as a whole, but I have one more thing to say.
What if the music that is being played twice is always the same in EVERY party (like already happened with Alien Project's One God) or what if there is less than two hours between the music being played again?
I believe sometimes DJ must be versatile and change their sets...

If one´s want to play top pop hits such as Alien´s, the only safeway is when you´re performing the first gig on the party. On the other hand, I agree there´s an enormous bunch of music around...But, telling you the truth, at any given moment, I have, at the most, some 200 traxx I´d dare to chose from. Maybe I´m getting a little radical here, but the rest is plain chica-boom. Oh, yes...And the song that got played twice was Timetech´s Sensuality. Sorry dudes, no replacement for that one. |

Hey friend Electronic Bungalow, you're right, Sensuality is irreplaceable. And 200 tracks is a good number too, IMO.

try to arrive in the beginning of party and... don't play "gamma goblin","1th revelation,"midnight sun",hasish and ayuhasca,please!!!!! |
