I played some mean Psy at a party called Evolution a few weeks back and there was not one finnish person playing there

theres lots of nice music still  .. faerie dragon , gi`wa recs , exogenic .. all still around .. lots of diffrent nice music for those bored with regular dark / fullon .. |

Evolution never finish, impossible! you are right it is boring right now so man listen to the chillout its great! If you want to listen to some quality sounds and deep expressions do it move to the chillout like most of us did. In the future and even at this very moment new ideas are being born and brought to life never give up!

yeah, i got some of your points.
but i wonder about the level you're talking
about. an artist can polish his music for the rest of his life without releasing if there's a certain level to be reached which usually is connected with his own high standards and endless self critcism. when you reach a point, you're already aiming for the next. music making is about learning to listen and to create more carefully and is an endless journey.
i was lucky and a label approached me before i even seriously thought of releasing and i took the opportunity because somebody heard something special in my music even if i wans't so sure myself (self criticism).
you as a listener can set your desired level for what kind of music you want to listen to and buy. and think for yourself what really matters more: the production or the track itself? (this is a side note connected to the feelings i have about many acts of today which have overproduced but pointless, empty and meaningless tracks)

First of all you say the "Psytrance evolution is finish"(ed)..but you're really saying that it IS evolving and that you have a problem with it?
Music is going to evolve in any genre, goa is dead now, its gone, done, and we're never going to have it back, so please either stop complaining or move on to other music if you don't like the psytrance of today.
These threads get so boring about how either Goa/Psy/FullOn is "dead" and everything is boring and nothing is exciting anymore. Now is the time to see more in music than the bassline and kick combination, or the strongest leads in the song. Every artist goes for a specific idea in creating their song, conciously or subconciously, and it's up to you to see that, to look at the song as a whole, rather than listening to the first measures of a bassline and calling the music instantly "boring".
Psytrance is more exciting to me than any music going on in the world, and i'm convinced that it's because I look at everything going on in the song and try to feel what the artist was trying to project through that...
My view on this overly talked about subject : STOP COMPLAINING OR MOVE ON! |

there's plenty of good psy music being made all the time. if you don't think so, maybe it's time to take a break and check out some other genres.

and who the hell said Goa is dead... thats just crazy, its like saying that classical music is dead...
its not... people still write Goa tracks and people still write classical music..

Well, I'd say that the psytrance is both swedish, finish and danish, which makes it scandinavian. Uhh, and the norwegians are definately on their way up after many years of slumbering...
Maybe it's because you listen to progressive that you think it's dead, but hey that's no news |
