The review:

After reading some of the posts about this album in the trance section and having liked some of Psykovsky's earlier tracks and listening to the samples on Saikosounds and Psyshop, I decided to buy this one. It arrived only recently and I've been listening to it for a while now. And what is there to be said?? It's great. And that's it For a dark album it's got suprisingly few track. Only 8, but as you can see some of them are quite lenghty fuckers. Now to get an idea of how these tracks sound just picture some of the wilder Osom tracks and dip it in some mysteriously sounding padsounds and stir a bit, and voila. There it is. Basically, rebuilding other tracks is what is done here some (or most) of the time. Anyway, let's make a short walkthrough of the tracks.

Track 1: We start with Propaganda, a shifting bass/pad starts and not soon thereafter the bassline and beat come in. For a 12 minute song this starts off quite fast with no enormous buildup. No, straight to the core this one. The rest of the song it stays really dark and sounding somewhat subdued, building and building to the end, where the sounds become more and more clear, and not as muffled as before. Good track, really dark and kicking stuff. Don't know the original, so I don't have any comparison.

Track 2: Starts off with a strange guitarlike intro and goes into total madness after about 4 minutes after that. My my my, this is sure some intense stuff. I love this. It's crazy, sounds flying all over the place. The ending is just soo good. Again, I don't know the original, so if this is better/worse... I wouldn't know.

Track 3: Longest track on the album and also pretty melodic compared to the dark stormers we've had so far. Again a builder, it really takes off with the melody in the 10 minute mark. Good track. First track that is originally from Psykovsky himself

Track 4: Really intense track, and I recognize some parts of Over Game from Osom. Imagine that crazy part from that song, subdue it somewhat and lay over it a mysterious melody, then you've got an idea how this sounds around the 5 minute mark. Great stuff. In one word: intense. Kindzadza's influence is clearly heard also.

Track 5: Compos Mentis then. An Osom track. Out on the 'Yes or No' compilation from Vertigo if I'm not mistaken. Haven't heard that one, so I can't say if this is the same. But there are elements from the track Osmotrix in this one as well. There is a wicked little melody in this, which really tops it off. Nice work.

Track 6: Another crazy track. Love the break at around 4 minutes, and then the takeoff after that to a totally crazy finale. Man, this is sooo psychedelic. Haven't been able to say that in a long time. Great stuff.
Based on a poem by Goethe. Anyone interested in that poem should check here: http://www.tondernet.de/main/kultur/gedichte/goe_jw08.html

Track 7: It begins just like track 6 ends, so this is a follow up. Sounds more like standard dark fare, something like Seroxat could have produced maybe. That is until the end, at which it takes off again in a finale which Psykovsky seems to like very much. Pretty good track, though my least favourite up until now. Original by someone named Matutero, which I don't know. Can't compare, so straight on to track 8.

Track 8: The last track is calmer than the rest has been until now (possible exception of track 1 maybe) It pumps along like a standard dark track with some strange blips and blops. It finishes off with a rather long outro with some repeating loop, almost as if Psykovsky wants to 'drone' us to sleep... hehehe. Well, we deserve a breather after all this violence anyway.

Final comment:

Phew. That's a ride man. Honestly, I don't think I've heard such a psychedelic album in a long time. And that's saying something. Still, it isn't without its flaws. For example, the production could have been better on some tracks, specifically on track 1 on which the sounds are a bit muffled sometimes. Whether this is an artistic decision I don't know ofcourse. Anyway, for dark psychedelic trance lovers this is a must. Even for those of you who don't like it so dark and crazy I'd still say: check out the samples. My verdict: Good stuff indeed.
9/10

Finally someone reviewed this album. After listening to this album you can surely hear how much thought has been put into this album and each track. Although I myself haven't really heard the original tracks that were remixed, I still love each track as it plays. This album totally stands out from any other album released so far, provocative, intense with a dash of seductive sounds. 9/10 for sure.
@Acidhive - Do you know where I can get a link for a translation of that poem?

Melody in track 3 is taken from Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake. Compos Mentis is the same as in the Yes or No compilation. Matutero is a greek darkpsy producer else known as Zik/Adrenal Glands/Horror place. Great album overall, powerfull and psychedelic at the same time, took me by surprise when I first heard it. Hope to catch him live somewhere.

Hope that helps. Otherwise I could've translated it myself, since I speak English, German and Dutch           "Subconscious unravels at the point of death, and all time it has known erupts into a moment. As death extinguishes us, so we become it."

This is a hidden gem, well at least it was for me as I only discovered this cd recently. This is fawkin wicked wicked psychedelic music. The kind we dont get to hear much anymore. The kind that is designed to tweak you out of your brains, turn your perceptions inside out. Very deep stuff indeed and hard to describe the emotions it produces in words. Check it out for yourself. Definetly recommended, without borders, to any psychedelic listener.           `Bottomless wonders spring from simple rules, which are repeated without end` Mandelbrot

Ah, the thank you's were for Acidhive... well and now for both you guys!
Oh just something I found a little funny, in the track Erlkoenig .. at around 3:50.. a sample used of a males voice.. Has any heard Chris Isaac - Wicked Games.. Doesn't it sound similar?
