mastering can changes some of things like balance in the track, loudness, brightness etc, adjust ever track to fit on one CD. but you cant make a deep sound if the source is not deep, you can not make it bright if its not bright at the begining enough. otherwise you will receive tragic attempts of good sound only and it will doesnt sound good. it is a specific porduction, thats all. bad or good, you judge yourself.           www.kinooko.pl

Imo you guys are missing out on the story... just because psykovsky doesnt use the same "add sound per sound" formula of telling a story, it doesnt mean it doesnt have one... Ofcourse, Im not saying that you guys are "b-class" listeners, missing out on the story and everything, but I cant understand how you can miss the story and progression in such a magnificent album

But each to each taste

Well, after some time I still think this is great stuff. The madness in some of the tracks is unbelievable, but good           "Subconscious unravels at the point of death, and all time it has known erupts into a moment. As death extinguishes us, so we become it."

o.k., i tested it again, this time i played the cd together with Mubali- Cats@ Play and Double R.E.L- Cereal Killerz, in order to compare between them.
i think what bothers me is that the kick and bassline are shadowed by the rest of the elements of the tracks (i hear it especially in Propaganda remix). In the Mubali and Double R.E.L's cds the bassline is much more felt, even though their style is also full with FX (as oppose to the minimal psy aka Deviant, NRS etc).
imo, in Psykovsky's cd, the bassline should have been turned a bit up.

Yeah, it's the "hiding/shadowing" of the kick and baseline that I adore!. Taste is taste I guess, but believe me, on a trip, it sounds perfect when you shadow down the kick and baseline a little bit. It creates a very unique atmosphere (floor, walls and roof to your trip) Besides, once again. The kick and baseline is the least important factor while tripping’. Everything else counts. =)

+ The kick and baseline "volume/intensity" is raised where it's needed. – God damn this album is genius. 1, 5 & 6 are my absolute favourites. What I also digg about this album is the Lastus Madrus factors spread all over the album. Psykovsky must have known that people would "bitch" (call it what you want) that he didn't release yet another Lastus Madrus track, so instead, he chopped Lastus Madrus up in pieces, and scattered it around the album in the sweetest way Ah, genius .. Like track 5, listen how the track sums up until it gets “whole”. – and the way he ends the whole album with the famous aaahhooahh sample from Lastus Madrus. - ko-ko

EDIT: Ah, so sorry, I didn't see that you all ready claimed the same

sorry but the bassline and kick being shadowed by the rest is exactly how its supposed to be. its genius, it creates a very strong tryptamine feeling, and if you know which feeling i mean, than you would never ever doubt in the mastering quality and you would KNOW that this is IT

o my gud. Then Dark Elf isn't the right name for you. But before I offend you, I should listen to your music - I mean, I know a couple of real Elf's, and they dance wicketly to the shroomboom acid in my pants music of Mr. Psykovsky. Dark Elf, good name.=)

For anyone that really digs these tracks, I suggest you try out the "Kill Fucking Bill" compilation from Deja Vu Records. I know, the name of the compilation sounds corny beyond belief, but there are 3 really strong tracks on it. Terminator, Furious and Psykovsky vs. Deja Vu Project with the 18!!! minutes long: "Only Love (we will take)" Trust me, those 18 minutes alone make that cd worth buying.           "Subconscious unravels at the point of death, and all time it has known erupts into a moment. I agree with psytones, the cd's mastering is great, I really dig how the kickbass is not in the forefront of the mix and is instead buried under various layers of sounds. Sip on some fungus tea, pop this cd in and you might finally understand mr tones when he talks of 'floor, walls and roof' hehe

Beloochi rmx and Compos Mentis never fail to turn my mind into happy goo.           Row row row your boats gently down the stream; merrily merrily merrily merrily life is but a dream.
