well... everything has progress.. everything must have progress.. music changes, even if it has a specific genre. ex: techno of '98 has nothing to do with what we call techno nowdays..
As for the organisation/clubs/festivals... you compare really differnt things. UK/Germany and Greece.. I dont think that you can compare a country which has the same population with one single city of the other country. (Greece/London)

Well u should read my answer again , its obvious that u have not understand how i put myself on the matter, i said the same thing, i said that u cannot compare festivals of bigger countries with Greece festivals and say that maybe Samothraki was the most organized ever (the second one) and secondly, wake up mate, there is no progress, the music that most call psychedelic trance these days totaly sucks except from some tracks from a very few artists, so where do u see the evolution? there cannot be an evolution from amateurs, there is none evolution! only when it comes to sound enginnering and that because of the advanced hardware due to our technology, nothing more, nothing less.

music was ..is and will be psychedelic

the people are the one that change throught the years ..

the spirit which is eternal

one way was the pure psychedelic trance u said
before that it was rock festivals full of flower smiley boys and girls
in a few years maybe it will bw something differend

Correct me if i am wrong but i think that you are judging whats going on all around the country by the things that you see in your city Thesaloniki and thats preety unfair if you ask me for people that organise events in other cities all around Greece and especially in the capital city of Athens ofcourse.

By the way most of the quality names that you mentioned visit Athens on a very regular basis like Dino Psaras,Etnica and Wizzy Noise for example and even Xenomorph and Sun Project have appeared here in recent past, just because noone books these people in your city Thesaloniki this doesnt mean that other cities dont work closely with these people.Dino and Max must know Athens better than we do LOL

Oh and you mentioned something about Kazantip festival in Ukraine being one of the biggest festivals in Europe?Sorry mate but i have never ever heard of this festival and with a minimum attendance of 2000 people every time it sounds not to big to me.Comparing this event to Samothraki (and especially the second one which has to be one of the biggest and best organised trance festivals ever from what everyone says) is at least funny in my humble opinion.

Anyway big discussion but please dont judge everything from what you see in your city.

P.S And please dont compare UK prices with Greek prices in parties,John Digweed and Paul Oakenfold charge 10 euros to play in UK and they charge 50 euros to play in Greece (they have admitted it along with other artists like James Holden in public) and the same applies ofcourse with the majority of psy trance artists plus i dont need to mention the size of UK comparing to our small country and the huge dance music culture of that country in contrast with the tiny numbers of our country which still listens to Anna Vissi and Foivos.

Detox my friend when I said 2000 people I mean for a normal party.Kazantip has 10 000 to 15000 people every year. And I'm not talking only for Thessaloniki. In Athens I have seen also what;s going on.Xenomorph and blah blah was only an example.Tha same things for Salonika are also in Athens. From 1991 that I'm going to parties and to North and to South I think that I'm experienced and I know very good what I say,And yes I will judge because I'm running for this f@#$%&* trance scene years and I see that the SPIRIT IS DEAD.

People chill heheheh
Mr Detox(without irony) Xenomorphe played in festival 2003 from cyberians in naoussa.Anyway yes I dare to compare the prices from 1995 with todays because nothing changed. In 1995 you were paying 5000 drachmas for Etnica,Cydonia and blah blah and in 2007 you pay 10 000 drachmas for Fungus Funk?
You kiding me? It's the same?
Just think who is Max and Psaras and who is Fungus Funk.
And my friend Detox if you dont know about KAZANTIP festivals then I'm sorry but you have midnight in your brain about festivals. Please dont be angry with me but is true.
And anyway YES!!! Trance is dead. They dont make anymore good events and they dont respect to young people that for a party they used to spent 100 euros.Where they will find the money. And when I see to parties 150 and 400 people I think that my words become a reality.Simply DETOX the days shows if I'm correct on not

Dear Macmarios

A)First of all noone said to you to not judge things, everyone has the right to judge everyone especially if he is as old as you claim to be in this scene.I just said that i think that you judge things from you point of view living in Thesaloniki and i actually still insist on that.

B)I dont know Kazantip Festival simply because this is a psytrance forum and i am not obliged to know every techno/eurotrance festival that takes place around the world with artists like Timo Maas,Atomic Hooligan,Pimenov (from the PPK firm if i am not wrong) and many other similar artists(90% of them being Russian by the way),i really doubt that many people around this forum have even heard about this festival which by the way i dont know how serious it can be when it states on its official website "Forget about Love Parade,Burning Man,Ibiza and all the others Kazantip is the place to be" and has all over its website nude girls and advertises the local sexual behaviour as "your chances of getting a girl are very high so use your brain and condoms wisely" not to mention that it says that no Visa is required for European citizens to visit Ukraine for the 2006 edition when i was in Ukraine in the end of September and everybody needed a tourist visa of 48 hours to stay in the country. If this is a serious festival which i should know then i am the Pope of Rome.In any case this event has nothing to do with psytrance so i dont even know why you mentioned it in the first place.

C)Now about comparing prices, since you are so old in this scene (you said something about going to parties since 1991) you should already know that back in 1995 when you used to pay 5000 and 6000 greek drachmas for entrance fee (15-17 euros) the djs at that time (even the big names that you mentioned) were playing in Greece either for free or just for 200-300 english pounds maximum and couple of souvlaki and some beers,Mark Allen used to play for 200 pounds,James Monro the same,my friend Dino Psaras the same and all the big djs were getting payed nothing, the same djs that today they charge ten times more that price in order to come and play to Greece, and not only this kind of djs but also people like Paul Van Dyk and Paul Oakenfold and Nick Warren who came in Greece and played for pennies comparing to the thousands of euros that they charge in our days. Also you should know that the best clubs at that time costed no more than 3000-4000 euros (ena ekatomiriaki sinithos) and you could get the best sound in Athens for 600 euros (150-200 xiliarikakia) and print your flyers and posters for 200 euros (70 xiliarika) and people BEGGED you to put posters and give flyers for free in order to enter free in the parties. You were there at that time so you should know all these things no?Not to mention that back then parties gathered easily 1500 people with a good line up.Today the entrance in parties is doubled up from 15 to lets say 30 euros and good clubs ask huge ammounts of money, djs ask ten and twenty times more the money they used to ask, promotion costs thousands of euros, getting a good soundsystem is very expensive and its a pain in the ass to find flyer and poster people to work for you not to mention that the ammount of people going to psy trance parties is 1/3 from what it used to be at least.Do i need to say more?I mean i am much younger than you in this scene and you dont know the things that i know?Stop comparing the past with the present especially if you dont have a clue of what you are talking about, sorry i dont mean to be rude but like RUN DMC used to say "Because its like that, and thats the way it is".

D)I dont know if trance is dead but i aggree with you that things are not looking good for many and various reasons,in any case we should focus on the present and leave the glory days aside, either we like it or not those good days are long gone, some of us saw these days, some didnt and all we can do is advance and built something new,i mean i used to organise along with my partners parties for 2000 people just 3-4 years ago and today i am involved in parties with no more than 500 people, what am i supposed to do with the decline of this party situation? To drop out and ignore this music at all?I just do my thing like many others are doing and we will see where this situation will lead us all.By just complaining you will never achieve anything, talk is cheap like the Americans say so if you really want to do something you better start acting

File Detox
allow me to call you friend because I'm not the one who will fight with someone for the music industry
Anyway you said about money and souvlakia.Believe I know very good good about parties. When I was working on Brainstorm in thessaloniki I went to take Max from the airport with a small DIO scooter and now we go to take him with Mercedes ahahahaha.
But the point Detox is that these artist they charge these prices ONLY to Greece. For example go to USA and ask how many money Penta takes there and then compare the price with Greece.WE are the stupid people who made them to take this money.I telling you once more time...my oppinion is not only for Thessaloniki is also for Athens. And I really know believe me.I have seen how good organisers are in Athens I remember the new years party with Max and Wizzy noise at Lobby. It happened that party? I guess no because I was outside the club with 50 friends from Usa and Athens so dont tell me that I dont know.Yes my frien I'm 30 years old and I go to parties from my age of 14.Whwn I was 16 years old I was playing at MOEBIUS.I played at Brainstorm and I was working there years.I spent thousands of drachmas supporting this scene and I lost hours of personal time for what? For no respect and to 30 euros to who? To Skazi or to Parasense. The same shit here the same shit in Athens. Conclusion?
Well Psy Trance in Greece=Big Apateonia           When everything failed...read the manual

Dear Macmarios you can call me as you like,we have nothing to fight over with,we are just discussing, thats the way i see it at least.

Like you said things change and once you took Max from the airport with a scooter and now we got to take him with a Mercedes, not because Max asks anything like that but just because things change.

I happen to work with artists and organisers all around the world (i even booked once Dimitri Nakov for an English promoter in London LMAO if you can spot the irony in that) and i know where artists charge more and where less and indeed Greece is one of the countries where artists charge more than they charge in most of the countries out there,we are not Japan ofcourse but we are in the top expensive countries concerning artists fees, even James Holden said that in public recently in an interview.

By the way you said something about how organisers are in Athens and you came up with an example about a party some years ago (i think in 2004) with Max and Wizzy Noise that never happened, sorry mate but this is a really really bad example,i mean i was at New York that time and i remember a lot of people calling me and asking me who that organiser was,i mean noone new anything about this party and noone got amazed that this event got cancelled,if you want to judge Athens organisers then you better speak about Sunrise Zone,Trancemedia,Trance Alliance and more who have organised massive events for many years and with a great success, just because someone announced a party that never happened this doesnt mean that this represents the psy trance scene of a city,i mean who was that guy anyway?I really dont have an idea about this party even today.

And i still insist that you confuse things of Thesaloniki with the things in Athens, although we are just 5 hours away by car the scene in each city is very different and the people have very different music styles,i mean Skazi and Parasense havent been here for ages while they are top names in Thesaloniki while Dino Psaras and Man With No Name and Etnica are top names here while they havent visited Thesaloniki for many many years, anyway big story.

Each to his own opinion anyway, wishing you all the best.           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!

Parasense and Skazi are not the top in Thessaloniki and as I see you dont know the things in north. So I don't judge with the point of Thessaloniki but with the point of a guy who is involved nad be party animal for 16 years unstopable in both cities.
