It's interesting to hear people say progressive has more of an edge, or more deep, or spiritual than full on these days. Although I do agree today that seems to be the case, I remember back in 2000, 2001 some people were leaving the scene because progressive was becoming more dominant and they said it was lacking the spiritual quality of full on (it wasn't called full on back then, from what I remember, just psytrance. but you know what I mean).
So now it's the other way round. Is it a surprise? Not really.

Cycles, right?

Actually it was minimal, not progressive that was getting big and afai remember full on was already called full on back then..           "The dinosaurs became extinct because they didn't have a space program."

I stand corrected on the full on term. And I'm sooo glad you point out the difference between progressive and minimal. Most people lump them together. And yes, it was minimal they were referring to. Thanks for clarifying.

yotopia, symphonix and co that some of you mentioned are the most boring ever imo... psy prog bullshit... We´ve heard all of this a million times.. Plusquam, sinn tec records and even some of iboga (the set 5, set 6) seem to be trying very hard to release all this boring shit...

though iboga also releases occasionally very interesting high-quality stuff like antix

yotopia is not even prog btw.. its full on with some proggy influences..

To me, the more real crossover proggy stuff like absolut, chable, clubbervision and even antix are 10000000000 times more psychedelic than whatever else these elitists from the so-called ´psy scene´ say is psychedelic.. It´s music that tells stories, music that is visual, that is fine and well created, really bringing you to another state of mind..

whatever..

for sure disrespect toward musicians with real producer and musical skills , musician that work on harmonies and create their own sound instead of just stealing and ripping a jazz song and put it as a break , adding a loop on it(also comes from samples btw) , then u add his infinite classic fart sounds and hell yeaaah,u got it , sensient is the king of the world, revolutionnary music...

if you will read again you will see i wasnt talking about originality or whatever...

i was just talking about house vs. trance thats all.

and dont take what i wrote about disrespect so seriously i just dont like it when ppl compare or put on the same category psytrance and house.          Always agressive never progressive.

oran, u also mentionned "disrespect" , without that word i wouldn't have answered
you say what IS trance and what IS house, but it is just your own vision...each has a different one... what u call house, i call it real trance , far away from your vision of trance wich is related to sensient wich for me is not trance at all... but i don't tell u that the music u listen is disrespectful toward real trance music
