The last party I went to umm.. it was Juno Reactor playing. Nope I don't think I even bothered to visit the chill out

But yeah some ambient is very trippy.. but not something you dance to..           "The dinosaurs became extinct because they didn't have a space program."

i love dancing to chill beats man....its so smooth and earthy, and since you aren't necessarily going physically wild the whole time, you can dance for hours and really get into the whole tribal feeling of a psy event. you just gotta catch the flow and go with it.....

Full on is so predictable. You always know what's going to happen next. In progressive on the other hand..

If you want unpredictable music you should listen to stuff like Autechre...

Anyway, why is it that people always moan about music becoming 'predictable'?? I mean, if it's good it doesn't really matter right? Let your biases flow away and open up to the music. Let your body speak. I mean, Buzzmonx for example is pretty predictable and standard prog for instance... Still, my foot taps along when I put a song from them on. See what I mean? Music can be good even if it's predictable...           "Subconscious unravels at the point of death, and all time it has known erupts into a moment. As death extinguishes us, so we become it."

Who cares if it's psychedelic as long as iy makes ppl happy. It's the besy music being produced at the mo IMHO (beckers, andre absolut, minilogue ect.) and if it's being played at the best parties in the world then it makes me extremely happy.

Do we really need those old 'psy' sounds for a whole party? Don't get me wrong but i love some 'psy' music but a nice late morning and afternoon of clubby funky stuff is the best.

I think music like Benza is interesting. A softer sound, proggy at times, goan at times and also well produced.
Tegma also rocks although its more into the full on sounds.

One listen to Jaļa - Fiction and a lot of things fall into place. It's the reply to people gasping for fresh air.

I think the concept of Journey is lost with most Full-On albums these days. Whereas a majority is Progressive Psy artists make albums which make sense as a 'whole'.

I know a lot of people who are looking for meaning in music have turned to proggy because it gives them exactly that. I may love to go wild on the floor to dark/fullon morning psy, but when it comes to 'listening' to music, Lish/Jaia/Segment/Benza/Sensient is what I'm feeling.

To be quite honnest, after listening for full-on the previous two years, progressive came over me like a storm. I got so bored with the same repetitive bass-lines, same kick, same arangment, same break 2.30 before the end and the same uplifitng moment. Yess, it rock for a party, excelent for the dancefloor, but where is the sence of motion in the music?
I won't use the word Spirituality here, coz it got kinda stupid to use it anymore, but still, progressive has more of an adge than Full on ever had.
Latelly, 90% of the progressive releases latelly (Iboga, Digital Structures, Tribal Vision, Flow, Sinn -tec...) ROCK. It has a sense of development, it has a lot more deeper core than any full on track.
YES, there are some cheesy moments in it (D-Nox & Beckers, Antix...) with vocals and stuff, bet certanly less cheasier than the Euro trance uplifting moments that are tacking over the full on scene like a storm.

I dont want to offend anything, but still, in my opinion, Progressive is the best way the trance has and will ever develope.           www.digitaldance.org

It's interesting to hear people say progressive has more of an edge, or more deep, or spiritual than full on these days. Although I do agree today that seems to be the case, I remember back in 2000, 2001 some people were leaving the scene because progressive was becoming more dominant and they said it was lacking the spiritual quality of full on (it wasn't called full on back then, from what I remember, just psytrance. but you know what I mean).
So now it's the other way round. Is it a surprise? Not really.

Cycles, right?
