Oh ok I didn't realise Africa had no white pople in it, and that they are imortal and imune to any disease war or other frms of death there. That is just a ridiculous and racist statement... Millions of dollars are donated ever year for millions of different causes, it isn't as simple as you make it sound. Tell me, if the government of a country in Africa has banned foreign aid from egtting in there, how the hell is any money going to help? They still can;t go in there... there is much more to this than donating money, I'll agree, and yes there are qorse man made disasters. The sad thing is is this is a natural disaster and therefor it is a lot more difficult to deal with. All the pople effected by th tsunami had nothing to do with war or anything before hand, they were like you and I. Again, grow up.

Nice way to finish your post... Journey Man Project... Maybe you need to be a bit more tollerant to other people's views than your own "truth"?

I had hoped this would be a thread where maturity came first and not stupid remarks like "grow up" set the standard!

I refuse to comment on you views as long as you set that tone. Respect is something you gain when you respect other people

Oh I'm very tolerant, if you bothered to read all my earlier posts I often agreed with people once things were fully clarified and we both laughed at the grow up thing... I mean, heck I need to grow up alot as well. You can call me Mike by the way . I have a lot of respect for you and your views, I just don't agree with a single word you said

So Mike you wish to tell me that you believe that if there had been no white turists involved in the Tsunami Disaster it would have got the same attention benefit wise and media wise? I doubt it!

And my point was not to be racistic but to point out that Africa is suffering even more now because the Tsunami Disatser take all the benefits at the moment! And that it seem a lot of people get caught up in the hype and forget that there's far worse disaster going on in the world and that help is needed there more now!

Last the stuff about India is not something made up in my mind. It's facts that have been debated many many times both on TV and in the press. I don't bother to go and find a lof of links. Do some seach on Google or visit the various benefit Organisations websites and you'll see that i am perfectly right backed up by facts.

@HandA: I agree that there are too many places that need help in the world and get much less Midia than the Tsunami but putting the way have put it is just plain worng...... what so now we are gonna divid the relive efforts in to what is for the whits, what is for the black and so on? plaese man give me a breake..... U know that the only reason why there was so much attentinon on the Tsunami is because it killind in one day Aprox 230.000 ppl. it is a tragedy, no t saing that there aren't thing that should concern ppl more and more ofthen just asking u to put it into perpective and loose the racism speech (not saing u are a racist)

You sure have a weird definition on racism. Where did I ever get racistic?

Or is this Tsunami Disater so taboo to some people that they cant comprahend that some actually think a bit further and actually care instead of just following the flock of sheeps into the media frenzy and hype?

I never once said there were no white poeple or that such a fact wou;d effect the relief. I'll openly admit that the only reason Michal Schumacher donated $2 Million was his bodyguard lost some famiyl... I simpl esaid in Aceh there were hardly any as foreginers are banned by Indonesia from entering this area (so they can murder all the so called rebels), which was hardest hit and needs most of the relief. Oh and I have read up on it. I was in Malaysia when it happened and in Indonesia about 2 weeks later. I never once said that this was bigger than anywhere else, I never said we should only give money to this. I give a shit load of money every year to a number of regions around the world. I just feel very personal about this as I have done plenty of volunteer work in India, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia (not Aceh as foreign aid has been banned until now). Now I realise there is nothing nayone can say to even slightly sway your point of view, s I'll wish you good night as it is night where I am now, sweet dreams and a happy life

I'm not saying that you should stop all financial help. What I'm saying is this:
Instead of investing money in the future to help those countries recover from disasters, invest in them now so they'll be able to recover without any help.
Just like HandA said - those countries are rich. But when the wealth is in the hands of a tiny percentages of the population which don't give a shit about their country, nothing's going to happen. The government system has to change (and not like USA did in Iraq, besides, it's obvious that they want the oil and don't care about democracy) and only then you'll see those countries really develop.

Cool-o we all managed to clarify what we meant and it all makes more sense now I'd like what you said to come true as well Mike but heck, in reality such things don' t happen, it's hard work being human.

I reckon £20 would make me happy for at least 10 minutes. PM me and I'll give you my address.

Cheers!

We went way off topic ages ago Colin... actually nice to have a bit of humour at this point.

I've been meaning to write a nice fat reply to all this political debate, but its gonna take me a good long time to sit and get it all out. It has to wait.
