Organic Records: Tsunami benefit CD

We're making a CD with all profits for the tsunami disaster fund.
So far, it looks like we're making a CD single with the following artists:
Pop Stream
Benefactor (Chris Organic + Colin OOOD)
Voice Of Cod (Colin OOOD + Andrew Humphries)
Chris Organic
If it goes well, we can make an album soon after... but a single is cheap to buy, its got 4 killer tracks, and we can have this released really soon.
If anyone has any ideas about it, speak up! Or if you can help in some way, with promtion or whatever, then let us know

Its a very nice idea indeed, im sure that the people on Thiland etc would appriciate it alot!
01. You have any idea how much the CDS would cost?

I think all labels should do it organized together, to get more money(although 1000$ is money but not enough). Here is the time to prove if psy community is about P.L.U.R.D. or just bla bla like others. I would buy such CD. |

You know what... that's exactly what we're trying to do. We're getting in touch with all the labels to see if we can pull together to do this properly. After all, as you say its time to test if the psy community lives by its beliefs or if all the spiritual talk is just bullshit. Also, alot of the countries hit by this disaster are places where the psy community like to go for holidays!
The key thing here is to make it happen asap. Its one thing when people say they want to get involved, but I want this CD released by the end of january. I'm working my ass off all last week, all this weekend, and all next week to make it happen. I've pushed everything else aside and focusing only on this project... so I'm counting on the rest of the labels/ musicians to do the same. Also we're putting our best music on this CD... the sweetest, most emotional (and uplifting) music we have available... I would hope that everyone else would do the same.
So watch this space.. things are developing fast. If I get the co-operation I'm looking for from the other labels and musicians, we will have an awesome compilation CD available by end Jan.
If not... then we release our own CD single with 4 of our best tracks... and do the album after.
btw.. all profits wil be given directly to the DEC (Disaster Emergency Commitee) to avoid the possibility of other charities taking comission. We will only take back the money spent on the manufacturing/ promotion etc... because we're not a big company, we don't have the money to donate these costs ourselves... but we are minimising all these costs as much as possible, and again, we are looking for as much co-operation from whoever is involved.. already alot of people incolved are helping!

I have spoken to MANY labels willing to help in any way possible.. promotion, tracks, distribution. With getting a single out quickly... profits can begin going to the Tsunami Fund so much sooner, within a matter of weeks, at a MUCH lower cost. Most everyone is doing this for free minus operating costs/materials, so as for % of sales going... I know that EVERY penny aside from materials and production cost will be sent ! The single will be distributed by Arabesque Distribution whowill be doing so commission free, and who will be encouraging parties further down the sales chain to do the same.
And the money will be donated to :

If others are willing to do an album, I am sure many people will support it.. I will do absolutely anything for them I can personally ! With the amount of artists and labels out there offering their support... than maybe that is the next step forward from here ;-)
What matters right now is we pull all our resources together as a family and each play our part. Aside from the record labels/artists... there are webmasters who can offer banner space, magazines who can offer reduced or free advertising.. or an article, forums can spread the word, record stores can promote, all the way down to the partygoers and music afficionados who buy the music... we can all play our part !! Thats the beauty of our scene

peace bros, this is something that reallly shows how much the psy scene actually cares not just about the soundzz but also in a more spiritual, gaian mentality... it's beyond our comprehension, this disaster, but peoples just gotta live & help out those in need. GAIA is one organism y'all, and we are all a part of it...
huge respect to PSY peoples who are behind this disaster fund project!
psy should be more than music, it should encompass love, compassion & a path towards enlightenment, and this kind of effort is pure strength.
i send my prayers to those who were afflicted by the disaster...
BOOM!
