@maximjou....let us die in peace....im here at the office working and rather than making money for the company i prefer to write here.....dont want to read.....dont! you gotta a point on short to prove a point....so ill follow the advice!

@ spasm....

as you put it.....
boom is commercial........techno etc will be at boom in the alternative stage.......= psy scene getting more commercial = very bad!

anyways....i can see we can carry on and argue for ages....we have just opposite ideas....lets accept it.....we should just meet...go to a party together and show our views......coulod be boom......unfortunately really thinking to choose a different party this summer... something a little less pop and more psy.....got bored of the scene changing this way......!!

I can instead invite you to a nice techno party here in italy and show you the chemical filled animals you can find here.....!?...

just last comment: "the number of new artist people know/heard the first time per month (more)" = the number of new artist who enter the official monthly isratrance top 20 charts (divided in genres (prog, suomi, fullon, fullpower, etc) elected by us listeners......

These are two points that i feel like saying something. The rest its a matter of taste and we will always circle around though i really dont accept Spasm`s ..."Psy-trance has no production quality, innovation, etc..." . Lack of attention, mate!!!!!

First....its sad but true, Boom is getting more commercial....more "generalistic". Not commercial in the way you would call MTV but in a way that its simply opening itself to more tendencies....wanting more people not for what it stands for but for what the public demands. Size matters!!!!!!:)

Second....and my point in all this discussion: i would not like to see this happen to the psy-scene. This direction for me is, more than boring, not interesting and lacking identity. Maybe we will witness instead of the reunion of concepts a even bigger gap.
With people and gatherings taking sides and growing apart....not cool at all!!!

The image of mega-festivals, with several stages of dance-music, as the future for this scene is not a nice one....lacks of what made this scene so special and unique.

(i really wonder what comments will be made of this stage??....i remember the sonica discussions and laugh....?!)....

now im getting emotional....sorry...

Well. Trancendence Festival will have an alternative stage, and I think the way the organizers put it was very good, because many artists that will perform at the main stage will also do it at the alternative stage, showing the public another musical point of view without "losing the roots" of the main act. In my opinion, the artist has the opportunity to experience new things and improve the musical experience. And at this specific case, which is a festival in Brazil, the majority of people that attend to it is the called "psy people", so I think it is very nice to everyone under a certain "flag" to have a different experience than the usual. Well, I like it a lot =D

Its pretty incredible to read a lot of you being so intolerant.

ANy way a lot of the discussion in this topic came only from missunderstanding, mainly from people making generalizations and people taking them so seriuosly.

the facts as ood said are clear: raves initiated with all kinds of dance music and they at some point divorced.

So, to say the true: No al psy parties have a supervibe neither al other genres parties dont have a vibe.It depends mostly on the crowd, it can be a superb techno, psy, dnb, etc and a horrible one I think most people here have experimented it.

So i think one of the points of the topic was missed.

I understand that if "psy parties" or best said "dance music parties" will held differents genres of music what is best to have a single scenario or different ones?

Well i think it a single one is very cool as it brings together people specially people who has different tastes in music but the same interest in culture.

Multi-stage can only be a good thing, the more choices in music the better...           On 2011-03-08 23:13, moki wrote:

I kinda agree with the original post. Too many diversions of music does kinda deviate from the whole vibe and energy. When u have one stage... all the collective energy is concentrated on one point. Now this is wat wld appeal to most people who are looking for the vibe and ritual part of it. For a person who is just wanting to feed his ears, it wld differ. To me personally, i wld like it all on one stage.

Regarding the vibe of the parties as someone mentioned; yes i have to admit that the vibe and energy of psytrance is something tht i am yet to come across in any other form of music. And i say this, coz of my earlier influences in metal/rock/fusion and other electronic genres like breaks, acid house and dnb/jungle. I did quite find close resemblance in Dnb and breaks.... but as someone just mentioned... though everybody is just enjoying.... most of em wld be just busy getting wasted... or trying to hook up with a chic... but also the few people digging the music. As for rock/metal it is a great vibe.... but again ive noticed it also is again a lot of fake attitude as some people see the way psytrance is. People are having a good time in their own way.... but violence etc. etc.and tht feeling of oneness.... is missing.

And to me thts the beauty of this whole scene, which quite a lot of people are missing the plot. Which is not just the music part..but also bringing together people of different cultures under one roof.
Other genres do to a certain extent, but not to the one.... tht psytrance is. Since ive been into this genre, ive met different people from different parts of the world, understanding their cultures, mannerisms etc etc. I'm sure it wld have been the same for quite a few of u too.

Ok enuuff said , getting back to the topic. It kinda baffles me..... when u are going to a psytrance festival.... ur goint to listen to psytrance/chillout. Why wld it be called a psytrance festival then? If not, the festival shld be promoted as just an ELECTRONIC music festival, rather than a psytrance festival, if u guys want to listen to other electronic forms. I mean, if diversity was the case.... Then even a rock festival shld have an electronic stage. But do they???
Dont get me wrong, im a sucker for all kinds of music. But my point is... u shld really know wat ur goin for.
