Yoooo! Im in love with Omnisphere too.
Greatest SoftSynth ever! Im uninstall all my previous VSTi because I just don't need any other synth.
With Omni I can make everything: from SFX to pads, from BIG leads to any other twisted sound.
Now Im work on my 4th track (2 PsyTrance, 1 DubStep, 1 Instrumental) where Im used only Omnisphere for any sound (without drums).
So Im really happy that Eric Persing change my life for better
PS After many months of use I still don't know all possibilities of this monster.
PS So far, I made every possible "PsyTrance style" sound that interested me http://www.beatport.com/release/cross-the-atoms/1042450

I'm new to the realm of Omnisphere and it's actually got me scratching my head wondering if I still need Logic as my home base - or if I can move everything over to Ableton now. (The reason being - logic's native synths, in particular Sculpture, were essential to my sound/pads/fx... but Omnisphere does all that!) That's still a little down the line...
I still have one problem with it - maybe it's just me - I really don't like the filters all that much. Maybe I have to warm up to them? I've been using Sylenth like a junkie lately, and those filters are just GORGEOUS - unreal, even, for a software synth. Omnisphere's filters just don't seem as responsive, or fat sounding. But - I'm still expirimenting.
The soundsources, however, are indispensible. My fun 'trick of the week' has been making simple saw lead sounds, tweaking 'em till I like 'em, and then switching the DSP saw osc to whatever-the-fuck random soundsource.

Do you guys use the normal oscillator as much as you use samples?
I haven't tried the oscillators that much and from the little I have tried I don't find them too exciting. Please correct me if im wrong!
The sample part are just awesome though. |

meh, the dsp oscs are average or whatever. the soundsources are amazing though. and besides, why would i use a DSP sawtooth when I could use a sampled "raw moog modular saw"!? madness.
w/e though, i guess the dsp oscs have some features that the soundsources don't. but... "raw moog modular saw" hehehe

oh god, some of the presets are just ridiculously fun jumping off points for wicked leads.
my newest tune uses a lead based mostly around "wack chaos bending" but heavily tweaked to make it a little less random, so i can fit it to the song's groove. but seriously - i've never used a synth with such inspiring presets, let alone in-depth functionality!
that being said, i'm STILL churning out basslines and leads in sylenth1. hmmm - gave me an idea: i'll go recreate the bassline i'm using right now in omnisphere, and then A/B it with my sylenth one until i like it better note that i'm talking about dnb/dubstep/reese basslines, not kBBB, for which all you really need is a saw osc, amp envelope, and filter envelope, and a couple notches in an EQ. omnisphere seems like overkill for that hehe

Omni is nice for non-KBBB bass - setting LFO's to very specific points of the spectrum, etc.
Make sure to check out the X/Y Morphing for switching between LFO and Envelope...pretty trippy on bass

Best thing about Omnisphere is how it can take a bedroom mix to a Hollywood standard very quickly if you know what you're doing.
