oooooh, today i've been having tons of fun finding a pad-like preset i enjoy the articulation of, and switching out the soundsource/adding granularity/etc to get a totally different sound that fits similarly in the mix. amazing!

Make sure to check out the X/Y Morphing for switching between LFO and Envelope...pretty trippy on bass

I would never suspect that the Tesla coil will be source of my lead sound... great for "dark trance style fm lead" when u add some granularity and modulations

Learned a lot about video game noises from the Retro Video Games patch....I heard it and said to myself "I hope it's a synth not a sample!" and to my delight it was a pretty simple synth patch.

Muted one of the pitch modulations, tweaked it a bit and it became a really nice lead that fit in my mix wonderfully            If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe

God damn is Omnisphere versatile.

My new DJ setup is ableton on a PC, with an Akai APC40 for triggering/mixing and then TouchAble on one iPad and Omni TR on another iPad.

I have Omnisphere routed to 'sends only' and I have 4 send channels (for now - as touchable only supports 4 - though they say more in the future) - with various Uhbik FX macros on them.

I also have Axis Mundi's wonderful MIDI device on the Omnisphere channel, and thanks to Rapid Evolution I know the key/scale of all the tracks I'm playing.

So, I trigger a track, adjust the MIDI rack to the proper scale/key, use TouchAbles keyboard or drum pads and use Omnispheres latch/timing settings to play improvised FX or textures or whatever the fuck I want and its always in time and in scale!

Even better if you spend some time making Omnisphere multis for each track.

This is especially fun when mixing relatively minimal psytrance like Zenon style progressive as there is a lot of space in the mix....I tend to not put in much if its a really busy track as it just muddies it up.

I also knock down the volume on each of my virtual decks by 4 DB to give myself some more headroom. The Audio 2 DJ soundcard that I recently got is so fucking loud that I still hit red if I'm not careful.

I can't overstate how fun this setup is. It's more "live" than the vast, vast majority of live acts that I've seen.            If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe

So fun to play this lead....

Take the Soaring Triangle Lead patch, change it to a saw wave, change the filter to a bandpass, put an LFO on the cutoff and restrict the area of the LFO to the range that sounds good, then go into filteraand change it to parallel, and have the second filter be a low pass filter.

Also move the Amp release up a lot so that you have a nice tail. Great for little riffs...the tail is very pleasing with the LFO movement

SO PURE AND SWEET SOUNDING            If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe

Been searching for high and clear and uplifting type sounds, the amped square expresso patch was a good starting point...took voices down to 1, added some lfo modulation to layer a and removed layer b...long legato notes sound great            If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe

I'm a ninny.

I didn't know that you could edit individual arpeggiator step length by holding down alt. That makes it so much better.

really dig the way this baby deals with auto mapping modulation
"right click assign to ehhh! "

on another note how fucking good are those effects....usually with big ass synths like this the effects are usually an afterthought
but these are the best ive heard yet.
real bucket brigade stuff
just a shame you dont get them as standalone           Â°Â°Â°ACTS 4:12°°°°
