He meant to say that Sculpture is great for evolving pads and weird sounds but its just a modeling synth.

I hope they do a revamp of the FM section in Omni. It feels very unprecise and noobishly constructed compared to the rest of the synth.

Can't fuckin wait to get my iPad next week so I can use the Omni TR app!!!!            If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe

I have a problem with Omnisphere. I recently changed from a 32bit system to a 64bit. I re-installed Omnisphere, updated everything but when I load a project now (FL) with an Omnisphere in it, Omnisphere won't load. I can load Omnisphere once the project is fully loaded but al of my Omnisphere patches used for specific projects are lost. When I load selfmade patches once the project is loaded, there is no problem. It looks like FL sees Omnisphere 64bit as a different program than omnisphere 32 bit. No other plugin causes the same problem, in fact I was amazed how well every 32 bit plugin loaded (even without jbridge).           http://www.soundcloud.com/bandarlog

I've never had the 64 bit .dll file work - I've only ever used the 32 bit. Have you tried going back to that one?            If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe

Haven't tried and don't feel like reïnstalling the bunch... I contacted spectrasonics helpdesk (they were very helpful in fact). They looked in to it, noticed it was a FLstudio issue and contacted those guys. My 2c. would be the problem never gets solved...           http://www.soundcloud.com/bandarlog

The cool thing is, even though its such a huge complex synth, its so easy to use. I`m still learning sythesis, but I think I learned more using Omnisphere for 2 weeks than in the months before using other synths, because the interface is so Noob-friendly and because you always see what you are doing. And funnily enough, I get a lot more out of my other synths now because of the things I learned on Omnisphere           Check out my album: http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/gay-satanic-hippie-tiefenrausch

Got my iPad last night. Setting it up with Omnisphere is pretty easy and its a fuckin BLAST!

I am really surprised that they don't have a video demoing it in more detail.

I'll detail the pages of it a little bit...

The app has 4 main pages:

The first is a multi/patch selection screen that also has latch/trigger buttons and level sliders (which can be changed to pan/aux/filters through a dropdown) - load multis, change between live/stack modes

The second is the orb screen - each patch has its own orb and it can be gleefully flicked around, its movement recorded, you can change the inertia and depth of the orb and its fucking awesomely fun

the third is a level screen that also has the crazy pitch ribbon - there are 8 faders and a dropdown for mixer/filters/envelopes/combo that changes what each of those faders are - below that is the pitch ribbon which has an adjustable range, can be set to absolute and relative...it slides the pitch up or down and sounds great. Also super fun.

The fourth is just a blown up set of 8 boxes that display the patch names and which one is selected. Multi touch allows you to select or deselect multi patches at once so you could trigger them with the same midi notes

If anyone has any questions about the Omni TR app I'd be happy to answer them. yes - if you bought Omnisphere you should definitely get this.

Oh, and the iMS-20 app from korg sounds AMAZING! If only the interface didn't confuse the fuck out of me...analog style interface/sequencer with gate/CV etc is SO DIFFERENT than the softsynth interfaces I've been used to....haven't felt this noobish around a synth in a while            If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe

I have heard this before. I am also wondering, if you run the 32 bit Omni on a 64 bit system, will you get more than the maximum 2 gig ram you have on a 32 bit system or will it accept more ram provided you have more?
Also, what FL version are you running it on?

i just bought the beast... wow!

cpu monster, and it hurts 'cuz now i want to open like 7 instances every time i use it, but god does it sound amazing!

some of the sound sources are just unreal. and inspiring, for patch creation.

i second the idea for an omnisphere patch-sharing thread...           Dance, even if you have nowhere to do it but your living room. ~Kurt Vonnegut

loki if you run into problems with CPU, try using one instance of Omni and using each of its 8 parts as opposed to opening a new instance each time you want a new patch

Omni patch sharing sounds great, new thread? this one?            If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe
