Omnisphere is so fucking awesome.
It can totally do it all - since I bought it I deleted my other VSTs (with the exception of the Uhbik FX suite and the Fabfilter suite) and I've been using Omni exclusively.
I've recently become super in love with the envelope zoom section...so, so, so crazy good.
And all the new filter types they added with the 1.5 update? fuck.
Woodster - do you like the orb now? I remember you saying that it wasn't all that special

So you think Omni is truly just as good as some old analogue gear? If you don't mind me asking, what kind do you have?
We should start an Omnisphere patch sharing thread.

Hey. This is an inspirational thread where we profess our love for our Lord and Savior, Omnichrist.
Not a thread where you come in here and spout lies about some other synth being better than omnisphere
BLASPHEMER
PS I'm not familiar with Sculpture. Isn't that the Logic physical modeling instrument? If so, that's very niche. Also...have you tried Omnisphere? You too can be saved. If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe

Omnisphere is great for evolving pads and weird sounds, but its just a modeling synth...whereas Omnisphere is far more than just that.
Peace out.

@ will - cool post )
Im havent bee trying Omnisphere so far, but it is not a physical modeling synth or is it? ..so it cannot produce all kind of sounds, where with sculpture you can create heavy (and different) basslines, percussive sounds as well as sounds that no other can (because of the magic behind Physical Modelling Synthesis and not only because I like it thaat much).
You find evnevlopes like in subtractive synth!,as well as pm synthesis parameters that are something really different.
..it is amazing, you tweak a few notes for incredible long time (because fun was never, never ever like this when programming and expiriencing a synth=) and it changes from hard basses to pads to special effects to sounds that definetly synths with subtractive,fm or wavetable 100% cannot produce.
CSI - a funny series here on german tv,was produced completely with sculpture and the sound design there is off the hook, things like bullets flying fast than sloooowing extremly down or frst fast thatn under water ,you hear it that realistic ,its heavy. This are than 'natural' sounds so to say,but this synth is a beast. It can so much.. I understand there any parameter now and this potential and what it can is an own world..IF I had to choose between one synth I could not live without it would be sculpture
Ps I saw lots of videos with Omnisphere on youtube along the years, also at the time as it came out,it definetly is a very nice synth. And I bet Id have also fun with it,but without pm it cannot be the paradise of possibilites for me.
I think with Sculpture you can produce any sound ,also any that the other are able to,and many that the others are absolutely not able to.

but you could even swap loops as all you need is one instance of omni and a midi file
no more stems or plugin issues....REMIXASAURUS

I got Omnisphere last week, and I`m amazed as well. You can create awesome patches from scratch so easily, it almost feels like cheating, or get inspired by the thousands of great patches and tweak them to your liking...however the possibilities are endless, it has definitely slowed down my workflow because I just get lost in the endless tweaking possibilities, its so tempting to switch between soundsources once you have a patch set-up the way you want it to, maybe the next one sounds better... If you are one of those people who always has a hard time ordering a meal from a big restaurant menu because you can`t decide, Omnisphere definitely isn`t for you, hahaha
My favorite things about Omnisphereis how much love and work they have obviously put into that synth. Apart from the great tutorial videos that have made it instantly accessible and tweakable for a N00b like me and the fact that they have written a short essay for every single one of the 8000 patches explaining how and why they have made it and how you can best tweak it, its all the little details that make this one special. I wouldnt go so far as to say that I would delete all other VST`s, but this one for sure will become my go-to synth
