I think that the quality of the music is related with the quality of the artists who create it.
As the human race evolves through time you can notice that the quality of the artists(and people) is droping .
I mean the moral values , the way of life , the spirituality e.t.c.
So it is inevitable for the music to be seperated from the whole situation.
I mean when we destroy -daily- our planet with our way of life which sound track will go with our attitude?
When the economy takes control and effects (almost) everything on the palnet do you expect a progress or decadence?
The artists are also human beings like everyone else so what we can expect from them if the whole human race is going straight to hell?

Sorry but i don't think that "... the new one is nice"
at anyway you say it.           ---RealPsyLifeForRealPsyPeople---

CHP you understood tottally wrong what i said.

What i meant is that people have the right to stick with old music if they like to and noone can accuse them of being old fashioned or against progress or whatever,if they like old music and they dont like the new one its their right.

I didnt mean that people should only listen to old music because new music is not good and that whoever likes new music better than the old music doesnt have a clue of whats going on.

If someone likes old music and doesnt like the new one its fine, what is not fine is other people telling to old style lovers that they shouldnt stick to the past and that they have to move on.

I hope i am more clear now no?           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!

Unfortunately, generally speaking, respect is not something that characterize Greeks...
and this is one of the matters that makes thing going worst year by year, not only to the scene, but to all things to this country

100% i agree

u joke guys right????
we pay soooo many f@$%n respect to the old bloody crew that i'll probably-DEAR GOD NOOOO-reach the age of 50 and still going to parties,to listen to some good old psychedelia!
with this kind of thinking u leave no room, for new blood to become even classic, oldschool, blah blah blah,-if u like it soo much the terms!
wake up & smell the cappuccino guys,we miss greeeat events m'auth th gamhmenh th classikomania!
snapp out of it!

for sure, there are (few) artists today who are worth to pay attention to them, as when you hear them you can understand that they follow the spirit of trance, the culture witch following our music, which established
in the early years.
But unfortunately they are few...

1. most of new artists playing shit, u hear one track of them and is like you hear them all!!

2. In the old days, we 've been listen to ALL artists they came and we 've been have lot of fun as the scene was ONE! now, we have prog, prog-psy, psy, full-on, neo full-on, dark psy and more bullshit, and each one who likes to listen one style he depreciate the music of the other styles.

3. Most of the new artists unfortunately they play music not because they have and they like the spiritual background of trance, but they play just for vanity, greed for money and having many chicks (and lot of coce perhaps...)

Those are the reasons my friend witch make us
be so nostalgic for the old days...

peace

There are many posts that i disagree with
but I'll start with the 1st one.

All of your points above are completely preposterous, imho.
And this is what it is about: personal Opinions, like bum holes, everyone has one.
I personally find today's music more psychedelic & trippy than the old school stuff (most of the old school sound the same, again imho)and the music that was played in the 60's,70's &80's even more psychedelic than the old school.
You can't just start slagging off artists, simply because their music is not up to "your psychedelic standards".
Even if all the forum starts saying that i'm talking rubbish, no one can still prove who's right or wrong.
Back to square 1 again: Personal Opinions.
Oh, and btw you're doing exactly what you said your 2nd point, by spliting the scene into 2, the old and the new...So where's that unity you were talking about?

What's today's buzzword?
IT'S NOT AS GOOD AS IT USED TO BE

hehehe

i hope we will not become like people who make nowadays "karekles" parties in order to remember 80's times ....life and music is on the move

yes my friend but you will not be on the move forever cause years go by. So I personally suggest we follow our instincts and try to enjoy moments of quality without forcing ourselves to anything unnecessary. If it is meant for us -the "old school lovers"- to attend parties with few people and "karekles" that is more than OK. The main goal here is the spirit not the style.           ...live your life in 147bpm.

One small thing that says a lot is the answer to the question: How many people participate nowadays in parties and how many people some years ago? Also i have the impression that there is a difference between people that go to parties nowadays. Each different style of trance music gathers its audience or is it my imagination? The difference between past and present isn't just the music, but the feeling that u have during and after the party.
Most of todays' parties have no character except festivals of course. But not in Greece. People here don't have and will never develop this kind of musical culture. And that is the main reason that parties went down. Love, peace and unity are words spreading a message that came out from the parties and from the epic melodies of Goa Trance.
Does anyone believe that pioneers like Astral Projection, MFG, Ofer Dikovsky, Boris Blenn, Transwave, Hallucinogen, Joti Sidhu and many others didn't help the scene growing up and became the influence for many people all over the world to love and understand the vibes of this music?

about the old stuff defenders i only agree with two things

1st: that we all have to respect legendary artists even if their music seems to us (some of us) silly now

2nd: that new people in the scene have to listen old stuff so as to know the whole history of this music and be able to critisize and settle at the style they realy like

but generally i dont like this nostalgic thing about old school
i think music now is too much better from before and that is the wright thing, music has to go on further and further and especially this style of music which is based in technology cant be happening the opossite since the technology is going further and further

and my opinion for those who are stucked in all days is that they do this just because they maybe grew up enough and they prefer when they were younger because it is physical to had better times then
it is for sure that 20 is better age for parties than 30 for example and thats because when you re 20 you know and have seen less things so you can get more easily enthousiastic

so people get unstucked (ksekolate) with old days which is fact that apply in all things in our life and when i hear these opinions is like listening my grandaddy talking

people in trance scene must be more clever and pioneers in todays life from the f@cking old fashioned people cause this music has to do with our minds and to hear it i think you need a realy good iq or else you cant understand it

What we have to learn and apply to today's music by listening to the "old school" stuff is that every single psy-track must have a point.... A beggining, an acme and an end ! I think that this is what is missing from today's psy-trance!
Old school fans should completely understand what I'm talking about as for all other respectfull fans of the scene I would recommend just to contemplate, the way they know better, with some famous old school tracks and try to feel the spirit, the melody etc in these tracks.

I think that the combination of old with new is the best idea.
