Hullo!
Very interesting replies! I'm glad I started this thread. It's helping me grasp what people generally think.
I still stand firmly behind my thoughts, but have had some interesting angles to look at the whole debate brought to my attention.
I thought I would kill two stones with one bird and bump this thread, while spreading my latest live set

I do have to put a warning with it however, its all electro/breakbeat stuff. Still dosed in psychedelic but it was a club gig so I upped the funk and downed to doof.

nice video! Im thinkin about live many times, but i still dont make it cause i don't want to lie people like many projects... i think the real live act is more difficult to make when music is more various, with many leads, bassline changes etc. And its impossible to make using only to hands... Maybe its a time to give things they real names? The act where used complete mix and its just added by one synth is HALF LIVE ACT!

Btw real live act goin to be difficult when music is faster, cause this music have more loops on the same time with slower music and artist have less time to working with this.. that makes real live imposible to make with difficult music and 2 hands.. |

very intformative stuff cosm. You should play a few gigs up in NNSW sometime.
Also interested in reading your response to onnomons questions about the pad kontrols reponse with ableton.
I make atmostpheric soundscapy nighttime psy and the day i started using ableton i realized the possibilites this marvelous software holds for my music.
Im currently getting all my old ideas and loops into ableton and hope to in the near future make a nice live set using similar techniques.
My dream is to make it such that all the track parts are fully interchangeable with each other so i can create totally new stories on the fly and make each set a unique journey
Maybe when i have some money i could invest in the lemur controller - http://www.jazzmutant.com
and create a custom interface to controll my live sets. Hopoefully Ableton will also support OSC in the future .
