It would be a smart move if the mods give someone a chance to refresh it a bit here. It still could stay a blue room but a contemporary update is cetrainly not a bad idea.

The production forum is very alive, thats the main reason I still come here.
Other than that, yeah, its pretty dead around here. Remember the review section, all the heated arguments, 100 posts on a single release. We used to have regular reviewers! I was a semi-regular, but theres no point in reviewing if nobody reads it.
I think what Detox said is true. A lot of what attracted people to isratrance just moved to other venues, Facebook being one of them. Who needs artist news from here if you can like him directly. Who needs record reviews, if the record as such is a completely de-valued commodity with hundreds of them coming out on the most obscure labels every month.
But I wouldnt change the place. The people are not coming back because of some funky redesign. And just because theres a like on Facebook button doesnt make a page come alive. Just leave it the way it is...

..that's a strong point.. it will loose its charme it's only a matter of time actually it's pretty useless .
I also don't think an update with a like button will bring back masses to this site it just would make this space more attractive.
..as for Psytrance I think the lots of same sounding sounds,patterns & releases make the most after a few years dive into other genres.. but that's probably very subjective view.

The forum needs to be reborn.. Its been this long since I have come to read it again.
If you are down, to help theme one of the base themes of drupal, I am still down to help build the back end of drupal.
We still need somebody slick with mysql who can transfer the databass, and then archive this forum.
I thought maybe, "the isratrance team," or somebody from it, would speak up by now.

Judging by the last decade or so of Psytrance releases, most Psytrance producers are too lazy to write their own music, they just pick something they like and 'write' it again and again and again.

Thank god for those artists working and creating to keep the spirit alive. there will always be the lovers of their music
As for isratrance, I will always want a place I can share my love of music with, and facebook isn't really the best place.
Maybe I'll start a blog, but who would go to that?
Just talking about what's grooving me and other stuff..
So there's isratrance. but as we hear, not everyone reading this listens to psytrance anymore. They just have a habit of coming here and commenting etc. So there's a lack of enthusiasm (not saying there is no enthusiasm, only a lack) for the music this forum is based on and people don't often go and listen to the new music shared here.
But by the numbers of people that attend parties and fests, psy music lovers are out there. They may post pics and a couple sentence comments on their fb page, but no real place to share much else for like minded friends (for very long, even, cos that wall keeps scrolling on and conversations are lost or missed.)
So yeah ...

@waveshapist: there's actually no point in redesigning this forum. having a like button, different colors or some other nice looking thing won't make people come here more often or even bringing new people. and that's a fact, wether you like it or not.
someone said that maybe the developers wanted this to be a memory of their early work, and they just want it to fade away because folks let's be honest, if some mod/admin wanted to update this place wouldn't that had been already achieved?
the only solution that would be effective (imo) is probably the reduction thing, isratrance forum is too large for it's current community.

iv been a member here for a long time .. there were days where id check the forum every chance i could get - definitely was a sunnier time for the forum as well as psytrance as a whole 
but as it is with everything - all good things come to an end - facebook's taken over
i cant say iv been there for the golden years, but the few years i did have on the active forum were awesome and helped me explore and learn so much about this genre i have come to love

I like the idea of keeping it like it is, but getting rid of all the inactive parts, consolidating some of the sub-forums. We've been through all the phases of growth, peak, saturation etc etc, and now it's time for a renewal of energy with the motto: SMALLER BUT STRONGER! Who's with me? |

then why dont u start a facebook page, maaaaan!?  i mean, whats wrong with a forum having its own fb page and 'feed' or 'stream' to put it roughly, where you could update also on anything u like featured here as well!? why not broaches!? I like this place a lot, its like some sort of library or general hub - nothing like facebook, facebook is not even close to what this 'space'brings about and the information contained & daily getting provided heere - and you all DO realize this,beyond any doubt, i am pretty sure! btw, screw facebook! it sucks too much really (even for advertisement)
