I went to Sinai once to DJ @ a party which never happened eventually. I think BLT or Guy Shanti were supposed to play there as well. Sinai's local authorities don't like parties it seems.

Now I'm living in Los Angeles, and it looks like they don't like parties here neither

LA's scene doesn't seem to exist beyond a group of 50-100 people... ://

50 people parties are NOT parties, they're friends' gatherings.

club parties which end @ 3am are considered teenage/kid parties in other countries.
(even if it would last till the sunrise, I still can't trip proper in clubs)

I can't even compare the parties in LA area to the ones I've been and DJ'd at in Israel...

European festivals such as boom, vuuv etc are teh best
seeing a few hundred people bouncing synchronously to synthetic rhythmic beats is special... gives me a funny feeling in my belly :>          LSD doesn't fry your brain, it expands the mind.

hypez604: you obviously haven't been around LA psy-scene long enough to realize that our parties can attract up to a thousand people or even more on certain occasions. usually it's about 100-400, so keep your eyes peeled and stick around for the true LA experience.

a lot of producers and djs that came here from europe, israel and latin america said that LA was their favourite place to play because of the unique international flavour that we've got. a party here is often like a mini-festival with people from all over the globe and a mighty bunch of local djs also of the very international background.

i think the scene here is comfortably compact allowing us to keep things spicy and underground.

konflux, I been around here long enough to have heard about yourself, and attend a couple of parties.. with simon p, sensient, a few more and even burning man 2007.
in LA area I've been to parties by green sector and moon tribe. the parties are okey, but it's like the same dj's every party and always fullon music at some stage.

PsyCore I heard about those Wed. nights, from samtabul.. fullon and darkpsy arn't my cup of tea.

I dig tech-trance, techno, progressive, prog-house, goa & suomi.

Ahi You have to take the good stuff with the bad stuff. That is how life works I think. For USA LA has a great scene it is not as large as in other places in the World true. But it still has a good amount of people yeah I agree with You the core of the scene is 50-100 people the "Friends" but The parties are usually holding more people then that.

Even in Israel besides the 3rd Empire Parties there is always Full On. That is how it works in the Parties, You have to cater to everybody's taste or at least try.

I do agree with You about the same djs But I have been there from the beginning and in Israel in the beginning was also a couple of Djs that would be playing 2 or 3 Different Parties in the same week end or the same night. Week after Week. It is still very young here. I love it like in LA .It does not have the nasty stuff that You will see at the larger scenes in the world.

in Israel there are few productions where you will not hear full-on (besides 3rd empire). moksha project in the last few years barely booked any fullon/darkpsy artists... and their parties are huge. also productions like amanita which do only goa trance / suomi parties are cool. in the old days productions like USTA never played full-on either.

I've been to parties in Israel since 1996... and the djs/artists variety is huge.

and they have a thing called techno parties! hehehe

in the USA, I heard SF's scene is way bigger and more colorful than LA's.

so i'm in moscow at the moment, and i gotta say i'm a little overwhelmed by the scene here. there are like three open air parties every weekend, each attracting many hundreds if not thousands of people. there have gotta be 20 darkpsy producers alone in this city, most of them on tiny local labels or handing out promos, half of whom have gotta be about 19 years old.

and for the guy who asked about russian psy messageboards:

psytrance.spb.ru
covers the saint petersburg scene, which is far smaller than moscow, and less dark, and
psytrance.ru
aeroboard.ru
for moscow.

as far as i can tell the rest of the country is pretty bereft of psy. or, its like lone djs with no one to appreciate them.

to the original poster of this thread: i'd bet there are a lot of russians in america who don't know about our scene who are still reading their home message boards. if you know anyone who can write in russian, you might want to post up there, asking people to contact you.

and yeah, even in nyc, where the israelis are pretty active there are a lot of people who don't know the score. i walked into a falafel place two days before new years last year and when i took my headphones off to pay the israeli cashier heard the beats and asked me excitedly if i liked psytrance and if there was psytrance in new york! she and all her co-workers were excited. pretty funny.
