I think that the music these artists have made in the last few years as they have gotten more and more popular versus the music they were making a few years before more than proves points I have made earlier in this discussion. |

yeah, 99% of the time, the demands of the marketplace on the artists certainly don't improve the music quality or originality - just the opposite.
but as we can see from the responses, to a lot of people psytrance is not much more than a business = $$$ = basic commercial appeal to the widest possible audience. who cares about those ridiculous outdated ideas of musical originality, exploring the unknown, reaching higher consciousness, etc etc etc. of course you will say "oh no, we are just trying to infiltrate the pop culture, use its means for our own goals, and make some well-deserved $$ in the process." but do you ever think that the money-oriented pop culture world has also infiltrated you and is corrupting your lofty 2012 dreams as we speak?

when money changes hands - it's a business transaction... and money changes hands in psy trance all the time. to disregard that is simply equal to sticking your head in the sand.

Perhaps it's more appropriate to say that, in many locales, psytrance is not business-focused. When money changes hands it's business but not necessarily business-focused; just a means to an end. |

or i guess another way to put it is that, in many locales, that psy trance is not a profit oriented business... meaning many people are not really in it to make money...

I did not call u a fool my friend, you are a beautiful person and part of our sweet trance family. Thank you for giving us the meaning of business.
The bottom line is for some people psy-trance is just music, for some people it is business, and for some people it is life. You should meet hippies who have given there lives to psy-trance.
I don't wanna argue with any person, everybody has there own vision and everybody precieves things there own way.
