a bit OT but...
do you know that walmart has been investing a good ammount of $ and energy on creating a more conscious green market?
lately they have been aware and guiding their crap product makers to create products with less package to avoid waste and created a large line of organic products...being one of the biggest market corps in the world, thats a good change...
and cmon labels and artists need to make $ to be abble to focus and reinvest on their art, great that psy trance is starting to be accepted on the mainstream of sales...
is itunes that different? still from a big corp....
its one thing supporting Mccrap and all that, but i believe that if we can utilize the structure existent from the big money makers in a positive way is valid...

all this talk of McDonalds i could go for a double quarter pounder with cheese and some fries. thanks guys for helping me decide what i want for dinner. they even have a mcdonalds inside walmart |

In my opinion, I think it is a very bad idea for real psytrance to have this major distribution. It looks like Geomagnetic, Kagdila, and Digital Psionics are all three distributed through this site. One of the best things about psytrance to me is that it is in most cases very DIY, the label , the artwork designer, the mastering, the pressing, the distribution, it is all done "in house" in a sense. I think preserving this is in the best interest of the music and in the best interest of the preservation of what has not yet been commodified in our scene.
I would personally be very upset to see a piece of my art making money for a corporation with the ethics of Wal Mart, so I can see where any artist upset about this that did not know before hand explicitly that this was going to occur is coming from.

I would think with all of the politically edged content of the last acidance release that you of all people would not want to see money from psytrance sales going to companies such as these...
I think the difference in giving money to Wal Mart and giving money to an online psytrance music retailer such as resonant earth is obvious...

Whats the diffrence in people finding Cd's in Walmart as opposed to Tower Records that went bankrupt?
I mean I bought Astral Projection and Juno Reactor Cds in Singapore at HMV and such stores. This was way back when it was impossible to get a hold of good music in India. I was visiting Singapore at the time and came across it. I was the happiest KID alive. I can remember the joy i experienced then with Dancing Galaxy and Bible Of Dreams. I think there is nothing wrong with it being pushed into the mainstream market. You cant monopolize music and be like My psytrance has to be underground. Thats bullshit IMHO. A few examples in particular that I can think of that are valid reasons why not...
the current state of "Punk rock"
the current state of "Metal"
both genres have been so homogenized by the music business that I just don't even listen anymore when one of my friends tells me of some new band that inevitably has both the words "black" and "the" in there name that are really killer and so original... It is all the same. There are a handful of bands pulling off the major label thing and keeping any sense of originality. The majority of bands that are putting out interesting music in these genres are self-releasing or releasing on indepent labels due specifically to these reasons. I hated seeing this happen, and I am hating seeing it happen already very rampantly in the psytrance scene. It is a very quick decline.
So, although I am not against the psytrance community growing, we have to be very careful that it grows up right... We don't want our kid turning into an obnoxious asshole do we? |

Well we certainly cant Monopolize it by saying "Geomagnetic.TV you guys can not sell your CD's to Walmart" its thier decision.

actually i have no problem admitting there isnt nowhere to buy stufff but at wallfukit,hence the reason i wont doit now i nseen the light I see spook did no wrong its not his nfault mp3 slingersn sell nto whoever but for mr ORGANIC you know who you are .......quit being a hypocrite and cut some of your ego that is as huge as mt everest and come back down here your money isnt shit |

so anyhow this is really my point! please anyone who really want there music art whatever being distroed to these places say I .....I always thought you could only get this music threw saiko and psyshop or friends youve made underground thats what is so beautifull bout my collection of cds mostly they come from friends and psy distributers like geomagnetic.tv underground! we have ennough of us inn this scene to all prosper and have plenty of plenty we dont need this kind of distro I know i dont want to see this shit get out of hand so pls no personal attack RICH ou have my number call me this is childish and as far as the airbed I have a hurniated disk I needed a airbed so i didnt have to sleep on the wooden deck I since then have taken up chiropractic yoga and been taken better care of this by not being lazy and fixing it (which ive been ispired to do by well they know who they are)i dont need that airthingy from walmart |
